Ukraine is not supposed to win militarily on the battlefield. If the West wanted Ukraine to win, things such as allowing AFU to use ATACMS on Russian territory would not be a debate. The West wants Russia to attack Ukraine out of security necessity by threatening the expansion of NATO to Georgia and Ukraine, which it announced in 2008. Russia is a nuclear power. You don't threaten defeat on a nuclear power without risk.

The situation is like how the Russians were arming the North Vietnamese against Americans. The US justified involvement in Vietnam because of the so-called communist domino theory. North Vietnam won anyway and the South fell to the communist, and the communist domino threat theory went unquestioned. Because the domino theory was absurd. Vietnamese were ultranationalist, and no communist domino effect happened when the US cut and ran. The idea that communism was like a virus that needed to be contained from turning into a pandemic was a justification to be involved in the politics of other countries. Vietnamese were never allies of China or the Russians, just like the mujahedeen were never allies with the US.

They want more money by proving they can progress on something.

American labor is 50% more expensive than in Taiwan. The US doesn't have the skilled labor necessary to expand capacity. The attrition rate is high at 40% because the semiconductor market competes with other industries for the same labor, and American workers don't like the work culture. To retain workers, American fabs need to bid up prices. Semiconductors produced in the US will need to pass on their costs onto consumers, and demand for the final product is affected by prices, not just utility. Passing on costs onto consumers, governments subsidies will probably still be necessary many years into the future.

There is some religious attachment, but the predominate influence is the flawed US liberal democratic system that allows dual Israeli and American citizenship. There are countries that allow only one citizenship, probably for that reason. The lobbies pay for political campaigns, and Quid Pro Quos. Israel owns Congress and uses the US to gather intelligence, funds, contraband, and for protection. That is why it can do whatever it wants and disobey American demands. It is a political capture of another country through legal means. Whatever restraints Israel has is due to the watchful eyes of international institutions and world opinion. The US does not restrain Israel more than it enables it. Israel is the only beneficiary in the US-Israel relationship. Israel offers nothing in return for US ties. It is complete political capture for their own interest.

Afghanistan US regime was just a source of income and employment for the majority of Afghans working for it. When it came to actually show conviction for democratic values, the phony government bowed over.

Most Israelis are anti-Palestinian. Whatever anti-war, or political protests you see on TV is not because they sympathize with Palestinians, but, because the security situation means they have rockets falling on their houses, and they are forced to evacuate. Israel is an ethno-nationalist state created with ethnic cleansing in its foundation. Israeli's are able to capture the US political system because Jews have been proportionally part of the elites. These are educated people with wealth and as a result of equitable democratic system, they are able to have great influence.

Putin does not trust the West anymore and Russia is in the driver's seat. They could gain much more territory of the Russian-speaking oblasts and if the Ukraine army collapses; basically ineffective to defense, Russia is going to take Odessa. This will also embarrass the US military industrial complex in their 10-year agreements and 10 year contracts to build artillery shells basically for nothing if Russia can pull a major victory this summer.

Culture is identity. Isn't that obvious from looking at different people all over the world? It is true, there is a clash of cultures because everyone is proud of their identity. Nationalism is extremely powerful because it is human instinct to look upon kinship. Humans are social animals.

The problem with the US military capacity is what libertarians long argued about and even predicted. When you have essentially infinite people, taxes & money printing, with all peer competitors remove, thus no perceived rivals, including the low threat from Russia. Free to roam, the US engaged in a nation-building, and deposition of world leaders to refashion the world into a liberal world order that is subservient to US influence. The Saudis had their security quid pro quo, European countries cut military budgets to below the minimum, and all was great...for a little while. That is until the US ran into Russia, ignoring the conditions of Ukrainian statehood, which is neutrality. Yes, the people who watch CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, read The Hill, NY Times, listen to Joe Biden, Blinken, Hillary Clinton, Nikki Haley, Mitt Romney, Mike Pence, Jack Keane, David Petraeus, John Brennan, John Kirby, the list goes on, & the secret women & men who hold talks and meetings behind closed doors, believe information that tailored for their consumption, as to have a specific perception by false narrative. Their minds are a product of a militant democratic state that uses propaganda as to fill the lack with autocracy. These are products of the US psy-op operation. They are programmed drones.

These elites make up the establishment, which can be termed "The Deep State". It is a conformist and loyal fraternity of people who clearly have too much time and power in their hands.

He is fully aware Ukraine can't win. His advisors tell him, including general Milley.
