Another very simple solution that will work well is just a google docs file that you share with people.

But that same argument works the other way too, no? If you define a chicken egg as an egg that came from a chicken, then if you have a dozen of eggs you cannot know whether they're chicken eggs or whatever eggs unless you know specifically a chicken laid them. Even if you take a dna test of it and it comes back as "a chicken", you cannot know whether it is in fact a chicken egg.

In the other definition you are capable of determining whether the egg is in fact a chicken egg by its contents.

I used TiddlyWiki (self hosted) extensively for like three years but now as I changed jobs I want to get start using just a bunch of markdown files. Editing with VS code on desktop and Markor on mobile.

Unfortunately no syncing yet because I keep my work documents in my work account's onedrive and can't sync it with my phone. I think there are apps that do it but I'd have to go through IT to get permission etc so haven't done that yet

Now all I need to find is a good method for searching throughmy markdown files. The search on vs code is alright but I'd like some thing that I can quickly pull up with global shortcut like ctrl alt s or something. Maybe I'll just make a python program to do it for me or try to find something ready-made.

Yup. Currently working at a company that has machines still running ms-dos due to them being critical and still working fine.

Well they're fine until you can't find replacement parts on Ebay anymore.

Yeah I've heard that xwayland is not great. But I did not have any factorial scaling, just normal 100%, nevertheless I did test esr and the standard one, though the standard is definitely a flatpack. Also just the text on the settings window was blurry so I don't think that was the issue.

Do you remember making any tweaks? I had Debian 12 with Gnome and could not figure out how to fix blurred fonts with 1440p display.

Yeah I guess "transitioning away from fossil fuels" isn't really that strong of a wording. Alsl "just" and "orderly" can be interpreted as "what is just for the country's economy" and "not too fast".

Pretty sure the "father" knows exactly what the expected monetary value of those is. They just choose to value the excitement higher. Which is probably why a large portion of the players do it.

Nah. The body does not have to work "really hard" to warm it up. And if your body is already hot and trying to cool down by sweating then the cold water will help with that. You need 1 kcal to heat up a litre of water by a degree. So if you drink a litre of 6C water and your body temp is 36C then you will need a whopping 30kcal to heat it up. That's like 5g of peanuts, so like 7.

I feel like this is a big thing that Lemmy needs quite soon. Lemmy system makes things more fragmented than in reddit for instance, so it would be great to combat this a bit. Sooner rather than later.

Something like when you go to a community there would be a checkmark that would also include posts from a list of communities curated by the mods of the community (or creator). Then when subscribing you would have this list of communities with checkmarks next to them to and being asked "want to sub to these communities as well?" and the user can un-tick some if they want to. Then later they can add their own communities to it should they choose to.

And weirdly, a lot of startups have the goal of being bought out by a mega-corporation in a couple of years and live off of that money.

Which does make sense. Most people work to make a living and what a better plan is there than to make something that someone pays a ton of money for and stop working. Or after that do something that you want instead of have to.
