Right. You avoid doing the research.

I haven't avoided doing any research. I am not going to waste my time demonstrating to you why you are wrong.

If the system was broken journalists wouldn't be able to access the information you say is impossible to obtain because the "system is broken" you absolute genius.

Tell me I’m wrong. Then tell me I’m a loser.

You are wrong, I never called you a loser, but I won't disagree with your choice of words to describe yourself.

Well, when I throw the L back at you, it means “lazy troll”.

Projection at its best.

Go upstairs and cry to your mom about it.

Ah, I see. It’s not about understanding. You just want to debate.

No thanks.

This isn't, and was never, a debate.

You are just wrong. Take the L and walk away.

Search “Canada access to information broken” to understand previous comments…

Search "Canada access to information" to find the portal to make a request to access information and find that it is functional. Which is the opposite of "broken".

It doesn't need to be perfect it needs to make sense, and it doesn't make sense to work to ban one American social media company when they are all guilty.

Don't use useless platitudes to make a point.

[-] Arkouda@lemmy.ca -1 points 2 days ago

Why should anyone waste their time signing an e-petition that doesn't include all American based social media when every one of those companies support Trump?

Don't divide the problem up and push for real legislative change that impacts all social media if you don't want to waste your time.

America is just being America. The country has always been volatile and untrustworthy.

Trump isn't even the worst President based on foreign policy and actions yet because he has yet to invade another sovereign nation under false pretenses like other Presidents have done.

He likes to make threats, but he has also demonstrated himself to be a bitch when things heat up so I doubt he makes a footnote.

We shouldn’t be using products and services of hostile foreign nations. This isn’t a freedumb or mahrights thing.

Don't ask questions already answered. It makes you look bad.

[-] Arkouda@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 days ago

We are currently at war with the owner of the website. We have justification for banning something that can be used against us in that war.

It would be like continuing to use American Air defense systems against the Americans in a full scale war.

While I agree we just need better legislation overall, I also think banning specific American social media is a smart move for everyone involved considering they are all in Trumps pocket.

We shouldn't be using products and services of hostile foreign nations. This isn't a freedumb or mahrights thing.

Unless Trump starts really wildin I doubt any part of his life will make it to the history books.

What happened to "See a Nazi punch a Nazi"? Why are we playing coy?

See a Tesla, vandalize a Tesla.

Anyone driving one is at best Nazi adjacent and need to learn a lesson on why they shouldn't be.

Edit:

It is actually disturbing how many people here are okay with supporting a Nazi. Every one of you needs to get your head right.

Fucking disgraceful.

I deleted it before I had any responses because I regretted posting it, and yknow what, I’m allowed to do that.

No, you deleted it after you had responses hence why it got responses. You then edited your other comment with this:

As some people have already pointed out, it’s far more useful to pont out why there is not much information available.

To somebody seeing this from the outside and not being aware of the issue, I learned a lot from some of the comments in this thread, but I learned absolutely fucking nothing from that comment linking the wiki page for genocide denial. This is why I don’t fucking like that response. Sure that guy may be sealioning and acting in bad faith, but the comment is public and is for everyone seeing it just as much as it’s for the person it’s responding to.

After I replied.

It is obvious what you are doing and now that I pointed it out for others coming by I have no need to interact with you further.

I don’t think that being uninformed is denying genocide and I think it’s antisocial, divisive, and not beneficial to any of us to treat it as if it is.

I don't think deleting the parent comment so context is lost is good practice. I think it is antisocial, divisive, and not beneficial to any one who wants to keep up with the conversation.

But you did it anyways. Like how OP explicitly denied a genocide is happening.

Both things happened, and that's a fact.
