That's a terrible thing to be considered normal. Those students were on break, on vacation. I didn't do work for my job when I was on vacation! I hate cheating, but I hate that you made them take an exam on break even more.

It really depends on your level of tolerance. I recommend really developing tolerance for "things out of place" and learn not to confuse that with "dirty house."
Put some baskets out to round up toys. Involve your children in picking up. If they are old enough to pick a toy up, they're old enough to put it in the basket. But remember, toys strewn about are the sign of children who love to play, so don't let it stress you!
Do what my mom recommended: Give your house a lick and a promise! Keep floors and surfaces reasonably clear, dust at eye level and down when you have time, dust mop the floors as often as you can. Keep Lysol wipes in the bathroom and wipe the lavatory, counters and toilet daily. Those are the areas your children will come in contact with daily, so those are the areas you try to get to. Wash dishes as you go and let them drip dry...I frequently used drip dried dishes without them ever getting put away between meals! And don't stress! Kids really read our moods and it's better they have a relaxed happy momma than a spotless house.
As your kids get older, normalize their participation in keeping their living space clean.
Here is the most important and vital advice I have to give: People before things. People, even little ones, always come first. Tend to your babies and enjoy them and their little messes! I am 71 so my children are grown. They do not talk about how our ceiling fans were dusty. They talk about how I would get down on the floor and play with them, how I read to them, how I let them use couch cushions, tables, chairs and blankets to build forts.
You're in the thick of it right now, so it probably feels like this stage of your life will last forever. The days are long, but the years are short. They will be grown in a blink of your eye, so don't miss their childhood. That ceiling fan can wait!

I'm in Louisiana, and I think the number CAN be that high.
My 95 year old mom lives in an assisted living facility. She's in a 1 bed, 2 bath apt with a kitchen and living area. Her utilities and meals are paid for. Her rent is over $6k a month, and she's still fairly independent. She's in her right mind--no dementia at all. She can bathe and dress herself, get herself to the bathroom, get herself into and out of bed, can walk without assistance and handles her own meds.
Once she needs assistance with any of the above, her rent goes up by $1k a month.
She just got a complete health workup, and they gave her a life prediction of 10 years. (Her mom and aunts/uncles all lived to be at least 104.)
Luckily, my dad left her with a sizable amount of money and income from SS and some annuities, but if she does live 10 more years, those annuities will be depleted and so will her savings. She will not be able to afford to stay; SS will never cover her rent.
It keeps me up at night. We are already paying for half my MIL's assisted living. How will we ever afford to help both?

Yep, you've summed it up. Earth will indeed be here forever. The question is whether it will be habitable. And humans don't seem to give a single care, as long as their life span will be over before the environment /climate poops out. And as long as they can take in money with no concern about their child, grandchildren, great-,grandchildren, and on down the line.
We can change this, we can mitigate the damage, but the powers that be refuse to acknowledge their negative impact on the future of the planet, they do not care...as long as they rake in the money.

And yet, I and many others will vote for him. We cannot let Trump anywhere near the presidency. I honestly would vote for a dead frog over Trump. The staff that's in place is competent, have done well for us, and I believe they'll hold things together until Kamala takes over.
Of course we would all rather a much younger, charismatic candidate, but it is what it is.
At this point, I truly believe most Democratic voters understand the assignment.
