The article doesn't specify, but it appears to be a long term fuel issue. They have been trying to cut back for a while now, including with blackouts for various areas, but they finally ran out and/or the demand while it was on just crashed the system.

Restarting an entire grid is not easy either, it usually takes many hours even if you have fuel available.

Wow, that's pretty fucked up for a teacher.

I hope it's a full license revocation.

The exact same situation is happening in most (if not all) first world countries, regardless of if their government is left or right leaning.

The effects are global, so national policy is going to have only small effects upon the greater trends.

I live in Canada, and I want to live in Canada.

Therefore the title is clearly wrong.

This isn't an Israeli proposal.

Hamas has accepted an Egyptian-Qatari proposal, which Israel is examining.

This isn't some sort of completed deal yet.

Your guess is accurate.

The other side of the issue is that "water" is rarely only water. There are tons of other shit floating in the water that cause problems with the splitting process, so you usually have to clean the water first which takes even more energy/resources.

I've owned an EV for two years now, have over 50,000km on it, and have never once needed a DC fast charger simply because I don't go on road trips longer than a few hundred kilometers. Even my in-laws are 250km away, and its fairly easy to level 1 charge overnight with a standard wall socket before driving home at the end of the weekend. Uses about 60% of my battery on that trip.

I'm not worried about needing a faster charger if I do go on a longer trip, they seem to be on all the highways near me in any direction.

Turning stupid? Yes, ish.

The measles vaccine was licensed in 1963, that means that the last batch of kids to remember measles hurting them are now 65+, or dead.

The parents choosing to have their kids not vaccinated simply never knew about how bad measles was, and they probably don't even have parents who remember at this point. A 20 year old having a kid right now could have a parent who's only in their 40s at this point.

We're doing the same thing with Fascism and the push towards war... Most of the population doesn't even remember Vietnam at this point.

Not really, a lot of countries already reversed the trend from 2021

The US is one of the worst performers.
