I'd like to point out that a lot of the world doesn't even have separate (or even any) devices for drying. Especially areas like the Middle east, Africa, and Asia. It's still very common to hang dry clothes in many warmer climates. Japan for example doesn't use them very much because electricity prices are so high and space is so limited. They may also just be a combined washer and dryer unit in one that does both functions due to a lack of space.

As someone who never quite reached this level myself, I feel like it's when you start being able to think in the second language inside your head.

I only got to the point where I had flashes of this happen for specific topics that didn't translate well. For everything else I kept thinking in English, even if I then needed to convert it back mentally after.

It really doesn't hurt to keep asking. Nobody that matters is going to be offended by it. Eventually someone will tell you, but just be aware that different people may have different reasons so don't assume feedback from one employer applies to all employers.

Finally something me and o'toole agree on. Dude got fucked by a shitty system for training, made a terrible mistake, owned up to it and served his time. It doesn't make Canada better to deport him.

No, but It's still a bad thing to sell something that's got a negative global effect. This measures that effect.

We sell a very large amount.

Work life balance meaning one parent can stay home and raise the children without needing that second income to put food on the table.

If both parents work, the birth rate is always going to be lower, even with better work life balance.

He attempted to have an affair. The fact that he stopped when she protested and drove her home instead indicates he didn't attempt or intend to rape her. He still absolutely committed sexual assault though which is why he was found guilty. Consent for any sort of sexual encounter needs to come first, not during or after, and removing someone's shirt and bra definitely requires consent.

When dealing with situations like this, it's important to be very clear and precise. There's unfortunately a lot of actual rapes that occur, and they shouldn't be muddied by situations where someone calls rape when it isn't leading to people downplaying real rapes.

It's the same reason I don't like seeing people put on the sex offender list for public urination just because it happened near a school (even if there were no youth there at the time) or like the case of a man that got put on the list just a couple years ago for writing a short sexual story (completely fictional) simply because it contained teenagers who weren't 18 yet.

Your analysis is far too shallow to determine Good vs Bad, even in something that should be as clear cut as the Ukraine war. Morality is next to impossible to assign unless you pick a very specific basis on which to analyze it.

Your starting assumptions matter a lot in morality, like how much you value human life. There are people in this world that do not value life highly because they believe in afterlife situations that are preferable to life on earth as long as you meet the criteria for entrance. Who's to say they are wrong from a moral perspective?

If Putin actually believes that the people in eastern Ukraine are being persecuted, and Russia is rescuing them, is that immoral? Would it be immoral for a solider to fight under the belief that they are helping people even if they are not?

Morality often comes down to belief because it's not an objective concept.

Me, I think Putin would look better with a few more holes in him. Is that immoral? Would I be willing to sacrifice myself to kill him? No. Would I be willing to let members of my country's armed forces sacrifice themselves to kill him despite us not really being involved in the conflict? Probably. That's some really messy morality right there.

The thing you need to realize at the end of the day, is that morality is completely personal, and yet it's entire purpose is to allow societies to get along. At the same time, you need to realize that you didn't come up with your own ideas of morality, you grew up being indoctrinated (for better or worse) towards a particular type of morality.

If you had been born somewhere else, to a different family, or even just had different events happen to you in life, you would have a different set of morals.

The Conservatives fully support Israel, and have both party policy and recent statements proving that.

They don't like the CBC, but bias on this topic is not one of the issues they have with them.

The thing everyone keeps forgetting somehow is that the goal of capitalism is to make profit, not improve quality of life.

The role of government is to regulate capitalism so that the profit goal and the quality of life goals end up being the same thing.

Unfortunately government isn't doing that right now because the number of people benefiting financially from this market distortion is larger than the number of people being negatively impacted. 65% of residential properties are still owned by the family living in them. That number will go down over time, and the government will bring in more regulation to re-align things, but we simply aren't there yet.

It's not a radical thought, it's just wrong.

Desired fertility is higher than actual fertility. https://ifstudies.org/blog/why-canadian-women-arent-having-the-children-they-desire

I have three kids, and if money wasn't a factor my wife and I would probably have 4 or 5

It's a little more expensive, but most places can find the space by drilling straight down. Still worth it from what I've seen in most places.
