It definitely isn't energy efficient. I installed Signal as an SMS app out of curiosity when I first degoogled but the battery drain was insanely high and the highest of all my apps.

Sandboxing it means it doesn't have any elevated privileges like MicroG has so it gets less data. MicroG still gives Google the information they're after, just proxies through alternative services I believe.

I've said for years that Siri is simply better than Google Assistant for actually controlling your phone. Music being the best example because Google Assistant is determined to funnel you into as many Google services as possible.

Infinity is still working at the moment but today I removed it from my home screen and replaced with a Lemmy app. There isn't a community replacement for every subreddit I follow just yet but hopefully Lemmy and other Fediverse services will continue to grow.
Popcorn is significantly worse than regular corn though.
