Fingers crossed Bad Hasbara does an episode on how bad her take was
Yeah I cringed at that. It's really annoying how many leftists have fallen for the lib-brained denial of material conditions that is covid denial.
Also back when I went to the gym I didn't find masking too arduous and IMO if you're struggling with masking while weightlifting at the gym it means you should do more cardio outside to increase your VO2
Yeah you'd think the media would have more sympathy for a pretty young white woman but they'll dehumanize anyone who opposes genocide and capitalism. The media turned on her hard already.
These are the only AmeriKKKan troops I support o7
Which one's which? They both seem hell-bent on driving the country and the world deeper into Fascism
I hate capeshit and only watched gave Joker a try because /r/ChapoTrapHouse was very positive about it. I found it a really powerful and moving story about a person being systemically oppressed, stigmatized, and criminalized by a brutal and evil system when he just needed a loving supportive caring Communist state to help him instead, and then striking back as a result. It was cathartic and it was deeply moving because I have known and cared for people like that.
And then I guess they threw in like 5% of capeshit shit but I almost entirely didn't need to know or care about that stuff. It felt like someone had tricked capeshit directors into letting them make a movie that was about systemic oppression under the guise of "yeah it'll totally be about your stupid superhero franchise!" when it really wasn't.
I liked that it didn't have the stupid frivolity and silliness of the 1st christopher nolan batman movie. I liked that it didn't have the shitty Joss Whedon one-liners and pro-military shit of the Marvel movies. I liked that it didn't have the pro-fascistic bent of the 2nd christopher nolan batman movie.
I wasn't planning to watch Jonkler 2 because the 1st movie ends with Arthur's transformation into Jonkler and I was afraid that meant a sequel would go hard into capeshit shit.
I tend to dislike musicals but I will sometimes enjoy one.
Based on the above, do you think I should give it a try or skip it?
What are these uniforms?
Comrade, when I was in college I didn't have the self awareness not to publicly argue with professors either being dicks or straight up saying factually incorrect things. Arguing got me the respect of classmates and professors. Also some enmity but I say go for it, arguing with power is a useful skill and there will never be a better time to hone that skill than now
Pop quiz time: Who started the war? Was it
A. Russia?
B. Ukraine?
C. NATO on behalf of the US Empire
Because that's how it keeps going. I have tried time and time again to ignore the little danger signs from White people and kept getting burned by some, even by self-professed leftists. Not by all, of course, but by enough to be wary. It's unpleasant; this hypervigilance around White people is a real burden and I wish it hadn't been forcibly inflicted on me, but that's what living in a White Supremacist society does.
I find it helpful to differentiate between "White" and "white" people.
Capital-W "White" means the person exhibits a lot of the toxic settler-colonial, imperialist, and casually racist behaviors that Amerikkkan society perpetuates.
Lower-case w "white" means the person has skin tones that make them look like the Capital W's but they don't do that shit. They're actively antiracist, they're vigilant and purge any trace of white supremacy from themself, they're learning, and they support people of color in our fight against white supremacist fascism.
It's not about skin color, and it's not even essential to who they are -- White people who rehabilitate themselves can become white people, that is, people whose skin is light but aren't being toxic or shitty in any way.
A pretty basic litmus test I've found is checking how they feel about American Imperialism. If I say, "Joe Biden belongs in prison for what he did to Iraq" and they agree, then they probably understand on a visceral level that brown people are people. If they argue, that tells me they don't actually value our lives -- because it is fundamentally impossible to care about nonWhite lives and also be ok with any of these genocidal fucks.
Idk they always find some ghoul. Hilldawg would be the funniest, but AOC has tacked rightward enough while maintaining "progressive" cover that they could maybe use her effectively.
I remember thinking "damn I really want this poster but I'm unemployed and should be responsible with my money, I'll pass" and then being sad when Bernard got ratfucked in the primary and sad that I didn't have the poster.
Then he went on to be extremely disappointing and I no longer yearned for the poster.
