Trump is overtly trying to distance himself from Poilievre and pretend they're not aligned on right-wing politics.
Trump, Musk, Jordan Peterson, and many other far-right endorsements were terrible for Poilievre's polls. Now he's making weak, vague endorsements of Carney in hopes he can hurt his reputation too and get Poilievre in power.
Can we stop it with these "when Canada takes over" kinds of jokes please? Canadians don't want to do what the USA wants to do to us and MAGA is scraping for every opportunity to paint us as the aggressor.
For now at least. Ultimately, nobody is safe except for the limited in-group.
It's always "I'm just joking bro" to find the other shitty people who "get the joke" until it's no longer a joke.
This is one protest. Many others are organised across the world.
Please link archived versions of natpo articles next time since they're a right-wing USA-owned rag.
Misleading headline. It should read.
Canada freezes Tesla’s $43-million rebate payments due to fraud investigation, bars it from future rebates over tariffs
Deplorable.
Thirty of us shared one room. We were given one Styrofoam cup for water and one plastic spoon that we had to reuse for every meal. I eventually had to start trying to eat and, sure enough, I got sick. None of the uniforms fit, and everyone had men’s shoes on. The towels they gave us to shower were hand towels. They wouldn’t give us more blankets. The fluorescent lights shined on us 24/7.
Everything felt like it was meant to break you. Nothing was explained to us. I wasn’t given a phone call. We were locked in a room, no daylight, with no idea when we would get out.
...
To put things into perspective: I had a Canadian passport, lawyers, resources, media attention, friends, family and even politicians advocating for me. Yet, I was still detained for nearly two weeks.
Imagine what this system is like for every other person in there.
That wasn't an acceptable excuse at the Nuremberg trials.

Suburbs tend to be more conservative than cities. I suppose they can also be more progressive than rural ridings though?
