The atomization of society. The process of a society breaking down into smaller, isolated units, where individuals are self-interested and self-sufficient. It can lead to a feeling of being alone even when surrounded by people.

Starmer's left wing is centre right.

Oh wow that's insane to leave those essentials out of the calculation.

Shit isn't good here either, energy costs increased by 20-25% in just a quarter, homelessness rising, wages have fallen in real terms over the last two decades while company profits have soared, renting is out of reach of most young people while the older generation is retiring with multiple homes. The share of GDP that goes into people's pockets is literally the opposite of what it was in the 1950s.

Yeah, it's pretty normal to be given readings in my role as part of my cpd. There's no way to read them on company time so I typically read them after work or on weekends. I don't love it.

I can tell you that in Tiwi the disconnects between who deals with what crime is a constant source of conflict between elder leadership and federal police. Quite often the police said 'oh it's black on black violence, you lot sort it out.'

The talk of reconciliation is literally dealing with issues like this. Sovereignty. Traditional Law. Cultural Recognition. Until it's dealt with there can be no true reconciliation.

I totally get what you're saying with regards to the state's exclusive right to violence but in a lot of places this murkiness between what the law says and what people do is such a powder keg.

PS. I'm not downvoting you, or even trying to be rude or abrasive, just trying to lend you my own perspective and experiences.

You're kind of not wrong. Collins Foods have just written of a $36.7 million impairment against the Taco Bell business, with Taco Bell stores posting a same-store sales decline of 4.8 per cent for the year.

I don't know, I kind of like that it's something new to get your head around. It's a pretty fundamentally different type of internet than what we have now. It reminds me of what it was like back in dial up days.

But small instances are very low cost to run, so much so that a few donations from their users is usually enough to cover the costs and upkeep.

Australia here, yes most people drink it without boiling but it depends a little what region you’re in. Some bits of the fat north or some island towns, you may be better off boiling it. Lots of people in the city use built in filter taps but I kind of write that off as con job.
