It’s a reference to crazy stuff MAGA nutters have said (specifically Muppety Taylor Greene 🤢)

Maybe it’s time you made your own project (if you’re up to it) :) time to serve that quality bisque in a bowl deserving of it lol besides, things will never change if we stay the route with Jack Welch-esque CEOs running the show; we need more indie devs, more small businesses, people who want to make something great because they’re passionate, or even just folks who want a sustainable future without strangling ourselves with the noose of “line must go up” mentality.

But also that’s a metric ton of work, and owning a project like that is certainly a risk to take!

This! Consoles are losing to handhelds like the Steam Deck in terms of capability and price. This keeps up, and we might see more switch over!

One hundred percent this! While what’s happening in Gaza is beyond deplorable, voting third party only serves to shoot these folks in the foot. Not only would Trump promote actual pogroms to kill off the Gazan population en masse (even worse than the current level of violence), but they’ll find themselves the first up against the wall along with LGBTQ+ folks at home if Project 2025 is allowed to proceed.

You could call it shooting oneself in the foot or cutting off their nose to spite their face, but it’s more like voluntarily slitting their own throat and smiling about it because at least they made the floor messy for everyone in the process.

Out of curiosity, what was the Creek incident? The initial fight for Malevelon?

Seems to be the Year of Nintendo Burning Bridges. Upside is, maybe all the competition they’re finally getting in both the handheld space and in some of their big software franchises will force them to try to produce better content and hardware. Or it’ll be Nintendo and they’ll stay greedy in their walled garden with inferior products; at the very least we’ll have some superior alternatives to enjoy elsewhere!

Agreed! Giving up is giving in to oligarchs who have profited relentlessly off of our suffering and the defiling of our home. Stand up! It’s better to die on your feet fighting than on your knees, groveling to the rich while they pickpocket your dying corpse.

Climate apocalypse is here for us all. Wanton apathy and inaction leads only to guaranteed failure!

Deck is superior to Switch! And obligatory F—- Nintendo, and their 1990’s mindset with games and hardware. I’m convinced they’ll have to financially fail to start caring. Even a 30% reduction in their sales and player counts should quickly seize their attention.

At this point 2024 is looking like the Year Of Nintendo’s Failures starting off with Palworld. They certainly deserve to fail!

That’s crazy! Was just up at Superior in September and it felt surreally warm for that lake (like 60-65F, compared to the icy 45-50F it usually is even in the summer). I wonder how long before the temperatures at the lakebed begin to turn up too; normally the cold depth keeps decomposition away, but if it were to start to heat up down there, then that could all change drastically.

Agreed, and same here! Have to assume I’m not missing out on much lol

Understood most of your comment, but I won’t lie I don’t understand the Yang Unravelling or Hammerfall reference in regards to the Great Filter. Did a Google search but found no results to clarify. What exactly are those?
