Good on ya, I've been in a shitty situation but I'm aiming for moderation rather than abstinence but neither is easy and both are, .... roads to traverse. (My previous housing situation was full of crackheads which is not where I'm at.)

Whatever it takes. I've been keeping myself structured with early morning appointments and one family member who's helping me despite most of my family probably wishing I was just dead. I'm lucky in that regard, I have someone who gives a shit and monetarily made that clear. (Beyond prayer and hopes, which are fuckin' useless.) If I didn't have just that single one thread, I dunno where I'd be.

I still have that map book on my shelf and whenever I see it, I think of that trip and all those people we met.

Awesome. Truly.

For context I am in my early 40s.

When I was 18ish, I was running for a bus. I missed it by the most narrow of margins. (Also, the bus driver was kind of a dick for not sticking around when it was pretty obvious... regardless...)

As it just so happened, there was a taxi a couple cars behind that bus that saw me running for it and it driving away.

That taxi driver waved me in with nary a word, drove me a stop or two in front of the bus, and without charging me, dropped me off so I could catch the bus. (To be clear this was in an area where the bus route was LONG and the taxi driver obviously knew it'd be an hour or so before the next one.)

Ever since that day, for over two decades now, that random act of kindness has stuck in my mind. We literally never said a word beyond my panicked "THANKS" as I ran out at the end. No names, nothing, just wild gesticulations and gratitude.

Love to hear some more.

I use Ublock Origin with Firefox and it works well on my win10 laptop. I use Brave on my Ipad and it works "alright-ish" but well enough. There are a lot of options to remove the ads. Highly recommend checking some out.

Free (government funded) AI workshop for resumes, coverletters, and job hunting.

Most of it was useless but some of it was extremely informative.

I forget the exact statistic (from StatsCanada per my instructor) but a high percent (50-75) of resumes get auto-rejected by something called ATS. Basically an automated system for HR. And sometimes it can be something as simple as the system noticing you're using AI...

Let that sink in for a sec there. AI rejecting you for using... AI. OOF.

I've been scheduling things early when I could've scheduled them in the afternoon just to keep me from sleeping all morning and help keep me/create somewhat of a routine.

In my 20s I had something of the opposite and had a number of women interested in me who were themselves in relationships, while I was not. Enough of a ratio compared to women who were single who were interested in me (which was not a high number) that I started to wonder why.

I'm not particularly outgoing either. Probably just statistics/chance, but I always wondered if there was something to it I was unconsciously contributing to.

Watch a movie/show you're very familiar with, the kind of movie you know line for line in some (or many) parts.
Watch it in insert language and you'll have an exact comparison for those lines already stuck.

Like sharing a political post you disagree with to make a point, but because you're sharing it you're increasing its awareness and popularity.

Curious if there's a known term for it.

(Ex. Paradox of Tolerance. You can't be completely tolerant of everything because then you'd be tolerant of intolerance. Thus, a paradox.)

I sort by New (rather than Hot for instance), myself.

Just randomly curious what other people are sorting at default, and if there's a common answer.

Kinda wish I could automagically sort comments by New as well. /shrug

You'd have to advertise an anti-advertisement campaign. 🥲

But seriously, I think most of this concern would fall under a subsection of a comprehensive Privacy Act.

Depending on how serious you are (but maybe not "police" serious) and also your financial situation, this is the kind of stuff a Private Investigator can do.

I have a lot of experience with games like this, so I'm not too worried about the combat end of things.

What I'm curious about, is for those who have played it multiple times, which character offers the "best likely story" if you were to play through once?

("Best" as defined by you.)

PS: A head's up for any persistent bugs I should be aware of that can really screw up a game would be appreciated as well.

cheers,

Looking for recommendations of games you think translate well to a Let's Play.

Here's a few I've watched as some examples:

  • Dispatch
  • Dead Space: Remake
  • Dave the Diver
  • Outer Wilds
  • Claire Obscur: Expedition 33
  • Black Myth: Wukong

Some games I want to play for myself, but others I'd rather just watch. Either I don't want to buy it, or maybe the game mechanics don't interest me but the story does. (Dispatch falls under that category.)

Any other ideas?
