Back when we were doing quadratic equations; I wrote a program on my TI-84 that would ask which parts of the equation you already had, and would fill in the rest for you.

My teacher liked it so much he bought a transfer cable for those calculators so he could get a copy for himself. Then used to to grade tests.

As if the borked update wasn't bad enough, it was also forced on users that explicitly said not to install it.

CrowdStrike’s channel file updates were pushed to computers regardless of any settings meant to prevent such automatic updates

A Roku stick requires the Roku streaming service to be functioning to be useful. If there wasn't a service with streaming media, the stick would have nothing to stream.

In cases like this; it's still only artificially dependant on Rokus services.

The hardware is perfectly capable of streaming from any number of services, including entirely self-hosted solutions like Emby/Jellyfin/Plex; yet the device can be remotely bricked just by nolonger providing Rokus services to it.

English is the language that beats up other languages in dark alleys then rifles through their pockets for loose phrases and spare grammar.

Right now Meta has the best VR / AR that is easily accessible.

Too bad the company is absolute garbage. I'm not even willing to look at their 'products' anymore.

Particularly with articles like this around:

Why are you surprised?

We left reddit for good reason.

... How would you even measure that?

/edit: ah, popular downloads from one particular torrent provider. Not the wider picture.

Add on pirate streams, usenet, and the other half a billion torrent sites and those numbers muddy a bit...

Because the DRM software in the game requires an internet connection to verify you've genuinely purchased the game, every single time you try to use it.

This allows the company that maintains this software to take it away from you at any point, simply by taking it's verification servers offline.
