Me playing Oblivion for weeks before realizing I never continued the main quest after exiting the sewer.

Extra hype for this. The first was a lot of fun and the enemy/world design imo is amazing.

Very interesting, cannot wait to find out who/what they are gonna be using as the patron and how they are gonna execute that whole dynamic.

From the image, I'd guess Raven Queen but that feels too on the nose.

What are some things that just get under your skin about games?

For me, it's games that do not allow controller rebinding. I have neuropathy and my fingers don't all work. If I can't rebind buttons so that I have necessary moves (for example: parry) be on buttons I can reliably press the entire game becomes unplayable.

And on console, where I can't refund a game after I downloaded it (fuck you Sony) then it really screws me over wasting what limited funds I have on games I just can't play.

As someone with a family who absolutely doesn't give a single shit about the difficulty of living with ADHD and just tells me to "get over it and stop being so lazy"... yes, they most likely didn't have anyone willing to lend a hand and help them in the way they needed help because regular people don't tend to think of the things we struggle with as being challenging enough to warrant needing assistance with.

Having a supportive community is a privilege that so many take for granted.

This is why I ask players what they want to do before calling for rolls after describing an area.

Once checks are called, all decided actions are locked in, then I narrate how the scene plays out based on the rolls. If a perception check is needed for traps, they have already confirmed what they are currently doing and can't meta game around the consequences of it from having rolled low beforehand.

If their actions are to search for traps, then they do so, but if they roll low, they are still considered to be actively searching and thus, I will narrate that they triggered the trap while searching due to the low rolls. This also has the bonus of letting people with good intelligence but low wisdom substitute Investigation in the place of Perception.

If it's in battle, perception is rolled for traps when stepping into the square of a trap. If passed, you spot it and are assumed to be actively avoiding triggering it (cause remember a square is a 5×5 foot area, not simply a single tile or something); if you failed, then well sucks to suck.

This way, players can't mind trap themselves into doing nothing because they are constantly paranoid about their low rolls.

Growing up, I was the gifted kid and my brother was the hyper socialite.

Because he was hyper and I was mild-mannered (until I hit my teens and became an outcast, so I embraced punk culture) my parents only ever got my brother tested for ADHD. Nope, he was just a hyper little twerp with too much energy.

Meanwhile, I had absolutely zero ability to stick to a schedule that relied on my commitment to it, couldn't maintain any semblance of organization, was always forgetting small things, procrastinating until the last minute on every assignment without ever studying (yet somehow was still making A's, American education is a joke), would hyper focus for hours on single topics. Nah, to my parents I was a good student who was just "lazy" and "not applying myself".

Didn't get diagnosed AuADHD until last year. I'm in my 30s.

It's a common misunderstanding of what "hyperactive" is supposed to be referencing. It isn't the body that is hyperactive, it is the mind.

People still think it means "Little Timmy bouncing off the walls cause he has a lot of energy" when it really means "Little Jimmy can't stop his mind enough to process thoughts"

Take the cop approach

"We have investigated ourselves and have found no evidence of wrongdoing"

Naive if you think this is only going to stop at pointlessly banning NSFW mods. This is only the beginning of the enshitification.

I don't even use NSFW mods, I'm just not gonna stick around as some soulless corporate entity slowly destroys the site.
