Gotta love the I - Talians, following both the Sacco and Venzeti traditions. They're trying really hard to rehabilitate Columbus Day
It's an important lesson we forget frequently. The rise of the right globally is more of the left's failing than the right winning. By instituting neoliberal reforms and ever lurching more to the right and simply being lame apologists for the corporate elite they allow the right to first off define the terrain of politics and they just come off as completely craven to normal people.
Yeah there seems to be some disagreement in the diaspora particularly around Jimmy BBQ and his alliance of gangs in Port au Prince. The former cop turned revolutionary or just using that rhetoric. At worst an opportunist and at best a lumpen revolutionary subject. Lavalas , Aristead's party, has been somewhat discredited given it's participation in the transitianal council while Aristead himself is more focused on education initiatives as of late. The G9 alliance did take over the airport to prevent the Kenyan "peace keeping force" from coming in. There's a sham transitional government council that won't allow any participants who reject the peace keeping force, that is seen as the US outsourcing an occupation in black face - and given the track record of the Brazilian UN peace keeping force (which shamefully was under a PT government), it would be a very bad thing.
I believe that the KMT is actually better on reunification than the ruling Progressive Party now. It's ironic...
So beautiful 😍
The Gaza airlift
Yes. They didn't hesitate to get a firm grasp of the situation lol
It'd be funny if Russia turns it negative demographic growth by returning to a slightly more productive economy and a slightly less financialized economy. I know it's wartime economics but would be nice to see materialist dialectics working in real time.
I think this will be a temporary reproachmont if it does happen. What's the problem with taking US money in the short term if you're expecting a rupture later they could simply leave the US high and dry and not repay the investment. A political or military conflict would reduce all this to monopoly money and the real economy (that is of course the cash, grass or gas economy, lol) would take over and the producers would have priority, right? US is the consumer market that seems like it can't be replaced (although the EU could have a reproachmont with Russia and reinstate their industry and consumer power, that's basically what much of the right wing populist want), likewise Chinese production can't be replaced. If the US tries to block the world from Chinese consumer and industrial goods it would be rejected globally and probably especially in the US itself. The belt and road in my estimation is an effort to industrialize the global south to compliment a future Chinese consumer economy. Even everything with Israel and Syria now... It's just that the victory is theirs to ruin.
All in all it simply seems everyone is waiting to see what will happen and putting their best foot forward in anticipation of the Trump administration.
