I know, I am/have been in the same situation as OP. I don't want to sound like a rise-and-grind guy, but when you get a little relief it's something to keep in mind. It will make that period when you feel okay last a little longer.

Running every morning is the hardest thing to imagine doing when you're depressed. The worst part is that it works.

You're right about it being more about management than "overcoming". I've also found, and heard others say, as you get older it naturally loosens its grip a bit.

I'm aware of the ones running the android version. They run well when they do, but online is partially broken and they crash frequently.

It's really there already. All they need now is QOL onboarding features like an in web browser version with a QR code to join your friends' servers, or if they could get on nintendo switch or something (not going to happen, but I can dream)

I have to dual boot windows on my PC mainly so my brother can play minecraft (bedrock, java ofc is fine) and roblox on it because the linux support for both is really spotty angery

https://www.luanti.org/ is a near perfect minecraft clone, better actually in some ways. Setting up a server for example is cake when you don't have to worry about DRM or authentication whatsoever. Every instance is a server with a click of a button. If the server is running mods your client will automatically download them proper mods to match.

The only thing it's missing is the huge library of mods minecraft has, but It's easier to make mods for Luanti than minecraft since it's open source.

It's more than just a mincraft clone, they're angling to be the open source minecraft + roblox all rolled into one. It's already better as a base game than either.

I went looking around for more info about MAiD after this post and found this. (I'll fix the link as soon as the bot scolds me).
I can feel so emotionally empty sometimes, but watching this video, the part with Orlando Da Silva in particular, I recognized in him exactly how I felt from about 17-27. I could write paragraphs right now about the ways I know he felt just from the micro-expressions on his face in a <1 minute interview. I had tears streaming down my face before I even realized I was feeling it. The weak half-hearted arm gestures and the defeated half-mumble as he felt the energy sucked straight out of him talking about his treatment. It just caught me off guard.

I don't think I have a point here beyond "I had an intense reaction to this and wanted to tell someone."

I'm interested in your opinion about the term enshittification. It's a Doctrowism and even though it's a little imprecise, frequently misused/understood, a little childish, and it isn't my first choice, it's the term that took off. Do you know a better phrase? Not trying to put you on the spot. You always have good takes.

As with many things there's a spectrum from intentional malice to not being paid to care to not even considering it.

I think especially in laptops not having that feature is really missed by even a lot of "normal people" and the necessary hardware would cost what, a couple dollars max?

I think the fact that other methods (WiFi direct, Bluetooth file sharing, etc) are so poorly or slowly supported, when the "how do I get this file to you?" question is so common, is evidence enough to suggest that there have been a number of conversations following this form at various companies.
"Let's support WiFi direct".
"Why would anyone want that when they have onedrive/icloud? wink nudge"

I am pleased to hear it's coming with USB 4 however. Maybe the sneakernet isn't dead afterall.

Thank you! Same for phones. Why don't you give me 2 USB C ports if you must take away my headphone jack? What if I want to change and listen to music?

Also it's the highest form of bullshit that I can't just plug two computers into each other with a USB C and transfer a file at like 10 gb/s.

In fact I have a conspiracy theory that they intentionally make sharing a file directly between two devices with no 3rd parties difficult so they can control and surveil what is shared more easily.

Ten years ago my rice cooker was "AI" because it used "fuzzy logic" to keep the temperature in a certain range.

Recently they've started intentionally reducing print quality with third party toners.

I don't know, I suspect if a white kid threw a rock at a cop here and got shot there would be a sizable number of

"Play stupid games.." smuglord posts

Remember the white guy who got shot AFTER the police said on recording that he was holding a PHONE and one of the defenses used was "The phone could have been used to activate a bomb"? After that I'm ready to believe that USians would side with the cops no matter what.
