If we're assuming it was a retaliation ban- The powers that be at lemmy.world would be wise to nip this type of thing in the bud now and replace those actively working to deceive and lash out at others from their team.

Eventually people will stop giving the owners/admins the benefit of the doubt when controversial things like this happen. What happens then? The time/money/resources are being thrown away to enable a few people's egos and eventually the users will tire of it and abandon ship. It seems like we're drawing closer to that every day.

One way or another the true colors will always come out. Interesting times ahead.

When F1 becomes the drivers stewarding from the cockpit, the real stewards are supposed to be the voice of reason.

This weekend and arguably this season they haven't been and George is one of the best at spinning situations to make it sound like he was wronged to gain an advantage. You could probably even argue he learned how to do it so well from Max. It's not a good look for the sport.

There's been a decent amount of activity at !sessionjams@sh.itjust.works and the music is always all over the place. Popular music, obscure music, non American music, pretty much everything depending on the day.

Whatever life Michael and his family have it should be respected and left out of the public eye if that's what they want. Having said that, it's nice to hear that he/they are doing well enough to be around friends and family.

I hope time has helped them adjust and heal.

Matrix definitely has its problems. Recently I've moved to a private matrix install and a lot of the issues I was having went away. I think the matrix.org domain is overloaded and has a bunch of weird errors because of it. If your account or rooms are hosted there and you have issues I'd try running somewhere else and see if you have the same problems.

Like someone else said the clients have issues too. A lot of them don't know how to report the errors they run into so they spit out garbage. There isn't a single client that works perfectly but there are a few that are good enough to use if you aren't using them for mission critical communication. It's stupid but it is what it is.

Discord sucks ass and no one will convince me otherwise. I have no desire to support them and their constant nitro spam. I'd rather use something like matrix and see how it develops.
