And for people who don’t know, black ice isn’t actually black (unless is filthy with dirt). It’s ice clear enough that the black asphalt underneath shows through very clearly. This make it so you’re on ice and don’t know it because it just looks like regular road.

Unfortunately, the US is so big that I don’t think single day voting would ever work. The entire population of Ireland is smaller than Philadelphia, Pennsylvania alone. Plus, we have our military flung far and wide across the globe and they should have a vote in the which dipshit politicians fling them around the next round.

What he’s talking about sounds like a mess. Single day voting on Election Day? What about people that are abroad, military or otherwise? People who can’t vote that day (medical procedure, etc). Then, having another election to decide again?! What if that one is in question? I don’t know shit about fuck when it comes to election law, but this doesn’t pass the sniff test at all.

I feel you. These types of bags either don’t tear at all or they rip violently and unexpectedly down instead of across, so while it did, technically, open, it’s now somehow even more useless than it was before.

The tee shirts are probably rolling off the press minutes after the photo was released.

I type as snarky, sarcastic comment I can muster, post it, then delete it 10 seconds later because ultimately, no one cares.

Corporations do not care about you. They care about money.

Also, anyone who says “try this, it’s neat”:

:(){ :|:& };:

Don’t. It’ll lock up your computer. The markdown is adding code to the above. Ignore the “amp;”. It’s just an ampersand.

Also anyone who tells you run level 6 is the best one…

Don’t. It’ll set you in a boot loop.

Basically, Google whatever someone suggests to you just to verify they’re not being a dick. I would say spend a bunch of time in the command line interface (CLI). There’s nothing wrong with the GUI desktop, but the real power of Linux is in the CLI because you can do so much with it. It’ll also get you on the road to scripting, if you’d like. That unleashes the power even more by making your Linux box so cool stuff on its own. Then learn the power of cron tables (crontab) so that you can schedule your computer to do cool things on its own.

Good luck and have fun!

I feel this so hard. I’m in a great marriage and I have a wonderful relationship with my daughter, but I have almost no friends. I have some in passing, but no one I would feel comfortable calling if things went south. It’s an awful feeling. I reached out to a handful of people on social media to reconnect and didn’t hear back from any of them. Being a middle aged man, myself, it feels like people are very wary of someone my age having not found his “tribe” yet. Like there’s something wrong with me because I don’t have a group. It sucks.

I saw a video from Ronnie-boy who equated Fascism with the left because Fascism is government control and the left wants government control. I’ve found with the most far right, any “-ism” is a leftist idea, except for conservatism. That one’s all about freedom.
