If you look her up you will see that this is one of her more tame takes unfortunately. At least this is not about her views on women’s place in marriage or the rights a husband supposedly has to their wives body, regardless of consent. I can’t help but feel a little sad for her though. From her recounting of her life it sounds like she married a man she didn’t love because that’s what she was supposed to do. After over a decade of miserable marriage she broke and saw it as her duty to be servile in all things to a man she was never really attracted to and convinced herself that happiness is to live that submissive life in deference to a man in all things. If it was the story of someone who got out and found a life outside those oppressive beliefs it would be a cautionary tale, but she sees it as the recipe for a good biblical life.

Did you read their comment? They advocated for the use of force and violence although with more nuance than that.

As per the excerpt of the article in this post:

But the law isn’t listed in the 33-page candidate requirement guide and there is no space on the petition paperwork to list any former names.

So it seems to me that it's a law that in practice bans running within five years of (non marriage) name changes. Whether it's unevenly enforced or not it clearly hits trans people disproportionately.

I don't expect them to argue against him inciting an insurrection. I think they will argue that the office of the president isn't a civil office of the United States as laid out in the constitution, as has been a common legal argument brought forth as of late. So they will probably have to argue that the rattifiers of the ammendment were so worried about insurrectionists taking over government that they wanted to prevent it, but not enough they thought the presidency should be barred to insurrectionists.

I don't believe we have a single book in the bible written in 0 CE. I'm docking points for incorrectly citing the publication date on the book you reference. /s

Search for Aisha, a child wife he took. If I remember correctly he married her at 6 years old, but waited until she was 9 to 'consumate' the marriage.

I oftena don't feel like I have anything to add to the conversation that hasn't been said, so I just end up lurking most of the time. I do comment more than I'd usually do to help the platform, though that admittedly isn't much.

Does studying the occurrences and causes of genocide make you unable to correctly identify them? I would think it to be the opposite, them being able to better identify and understand current genocides or events and actions that might lead to one.

Slavery has been an institution in almost all if not all contries at some point. That doesn't make it any less horrible, that other atrocities are also common doesn't make them less atrocious either.

Introversion isn't an example of neurodivertion, but I suspect there is a large overlap. Many types of neurodivergence make social situations require more energy to be in, which I reason might cause an increased likelihood of being introverted.

Neurodivergence doesn't imply Schizophrenia necessarily. It could be a variety of things, some common examples would be autism and ADHD.

I've posted as much here in three weeks as i did on Reddit in three years. That's one post, but still. I am trying to be more active though to keep lemmy active and because it just feels more meaningful here.
