There are alternatives all over the web.

Update: I meant for personal use. I know that workplaces force us to use the same tools (and same versions of said tools) that they use.

I would say GIMP (+ extensions) is still the FOSS version of Photoshop.

Of course, i would love to have a fully fledged program without such a steep learning curve.

But i think Krita is fine as it is.
