Im 19 and for years my mother has been telling me to use codecademy but most of its locked behind a paywall. Have any of you used this site, what are your thoughts on it? Are there better totally free alternatives that walk you thru everything?

Someday i want to make games or something like that but im unsure what programming language to choose. I like the look of lua but im not sure if i should go with it or what projects to learn from? Everyone here tells me if i i choose to go with gamedev someday, to pick up godot but i feel im not ready to make games and that i need to start learning the basics.

You know how games use to come on a dvd or a big brick called a cartridge... Can i do something like that but in modern day. I have a bunch of blank dvd and cds collecting dust and linux os's but could i put game son them on installers and give them some cool art? Is there a better way to do this? This would also be for personal use cases.

Im just not sure how well save files would be handled, or if this is worth doing.

So i used to play standard minecraft many years ago when i was a kid but then i got very burnt out and havent played it sense. Minecraft has a bigger community/mods than minetest, but minetest is a neat little lua project. How do i decide? what would you suggest?

Like most people and young adults my age i also hate being broke. Im 19 and im not allowed a job due to parents, life, and not wanting to drive. The thing is im depressed and very unmotivated due to young adult hormones or something. I also feel like if i start making money i might get a spending problem to fill the void.Its not like i could get a job i have no real experience.

Im stumped but im also not sure what steps to take.

Right now i have a pre-build i got from ebay quite some time ago but its a Frankenstein of parts to say. I want to get a better pc but i cant get a job due to parents saying no and im quite busy theses days. I wish i could do something from home to gain experience but im not sure what? also what are some things to avoid when upgrading, this time i wont go for a pre-build. I do have a little bit of cash but nothing special that will get me anywhere in terms of a pc.

Ive gathered over the years a descent stash of desktop computers and parts but now i have too many and im not sure what to do with them or how to sell/get rid of them? Or even where to post them at. The computers are nothing new or special.

What would you advise?

I recently got a 10 dollar working netbook from a thiftstore. It has 2 ram and is from 2010 but isint the up-gradable version. Im wondering what os to run on it do i go with something like a android build or a linux setup? Im could also use some neat use cases. Ive thought about doing retro game on it but there are possible better solutions?

Hello 19 year old with autism and depression here. Im on pills given by a doctor, ive tried therapy, dnd even. I just feel depressed and im not sure why possibly hormones or maybe that fact that i haven't accomplished anything in my life or even done anything, also im broke to say. Everyone tells me to workout but i dont feel motivated to even do that plus its super hot outside and i cant afford a gym, maybe im making excuses...

I just feel lost on where i should be right now in life and im clueless on what the next steps are.

Hello im 19 year old with autism if that matter. Im not allowed a job because parents said no and yes i know im a adult but i cant drive and im dependent on family and they are with me aswell. Anyways i felt so down in the dumps and just wanting a way to earn money, that i thought surveys and get paid to sites would be a change. There a waste of time and only good for earning pennies. most of the time you do the survey and when you fishish it screen you out not giving you a reward. I even get money from the government for having autism but it goes towards bills and life, the little i have left i always blow it on something dumb (I have a problem).

I want to let you know never try those sites there just not worth it and take weeks of slave labor to even get a dollar.

And now i ask how do i earn money in a real way or get a job from home? I wanted to be my own boss sense i felt busy but im not sure anymore.

I know there is youtube or creating letsplay videos, but lets be honest everyone does that and it dont pay the bills unless you meet requirements of the YouTube gods.

Im a casual gamer and im just wondering if i can turn this hobby into something like a job? Or should i prepare myself for a actually job in life?

So is it possible to earn real money as a gamer?

I hate how capcut has gotten to. Ive tried davcihi resolve but i find it isint as easy as capcut. I want to try a open source video editor for my linux mint laptop that is really free and so easy even a child could learn it.

Im up for suggestions or a change of my mindset.
