The world feels like: Democrats are the cops, the DNC is the FBI, Trump is Hans Gruber, Bernie Sanders is Al Powell, America is the Christmas party (it even includes a pregnant woman in peril). We'll say Kamala Harris is Holly Gennero, Joe Biden is Mr. Takagi, protest voters are Ellis, and Gen Z is Argyle. Richard Thornburg has failed us, the power's been cut, and the hostages are on the roof. But we don't have a John MacClane. I don't know what drastic measure needs to be taken. But it would be really great if we could keep the burglars-cum-terrorists from blowing us to smithereens and making off with the loot.
To elicit a response is to feel powerful. The greater the response, the more power perceived. It's a self worth issue. America is dying from low self esteem. The bravado we project is just some small dick energy, over compensation. We are a nation of people trying to buy an identity from a car dealership. Presently this yearning for purpose has been disastrously harnessed by jackals.
Ranier Wolfcastle in front of a brick wall saying "that's the joke."
Do not be fooled. The GOP is not running a failing campaign, it's just that they are putting all their energy toward backdooring the whole democratic process itself. Their campaign is little more than a diversion for their coup.
I'm going to disagree with most of these comments. They don't protect the prong so much as they protect the cord or other objects in the cords vicinity (painted surfaces, fragile surfaces, etc). The little plastic cap that covers tire stems on cars and bikes , while keeping it clean when installed, are primary to prevent chaffing issue on the inner tube whike shipped and stored; same thing with this prong shroud. They have holes in them as to not retain moisture I imagine.
Long story short, the prongs are metal and have corners. They are the strongest, "sharpest" thing in the box. The plastic isn't protecting the prongs from us, it's protecting us from the prongs.
This doesn't directly relate, but Iggy Pop once said he doesn't mind to be seen cross dressing because he doesn't consider it to be a negative thing to be a woman. They think Tampon Tim is a slam, because they think being compared to/associated with a woman is demeaning. Take note republican women, they don't respect you.
I honestly thought this was about to be another orb post from the thumbnail.
Same thing any "in group" feeds on: self esteem. If you feel powerless, or worthless, or rudderless, any group that makes you feel powerful, valuable, and effective is going to be very appealing. Conservatives (read: fascists) prey on this. They make it seem like joining them is brave, and important. And since their followers lack identity and purpose, their self worth becomes entangled with [in group], be it closeted fascism such as the American GOP, or flaming such as Q/proud boys/whatever. And since their identity and value depends on the perpetuation and proliferation of their in group, they willingly accept lies and falsehood. Pretty easy to gaslight someone who's encouraging it.
Then when they wear their symbols of hate, or make shocking claims, or in anyway troll and grief society, up to and including dismantling democracy, they get a reaction. They've exerted their will on the world around them, and as such they feel powerful. The insidious bit is, even if the good guys win, with all their high falutin factual arguments and social programs, it just makes these sad people angier and feel worthless again. So they go right back to their pimps for some more sweet lies and marching orders.
I'd be afraid of getting my nuggets trapped in the confluence zone.
More details on the availability of this flavor will be revealed on April 1 – but in the meantime, the rest of the 7-Select x Miracle Seltzer lineup including Lemon Lime, Green Apple and Sweet Orange can be found at select 7-Eleven® stores.
I am suspicious.
If humans don't commit suicide first through war or environmental abuse, I truly believe that future generations will look back on eating meat as a barbaric mistake. They'll tell stories about how we caused epidemics and pandemics, wasted valuable resources and land, polluted air, land, and sea, and abided the suffering of billions of animals, all so we could feed our children dinosaur shaped meat nuggets and buy cheap hamburgers that we were too lazy to even get out of our cars to purchase.
"And then, even as global warming spiraled out of control, they wasted arable land and dwindling water supplies on subsidized corn to feed to the subsidized beef and poultry stock. The ones that didn't get culled or recalled or spoil before even hitting a plate contributed to a dietary culture of heart disease. Also, the animals regularly suffered immensely, which they were aware of but preferred not to consider."
More and more it's clear to me that many people don't think at all. What do you get with a culture who lives paycheck to paycheck, undervalues education, and overvalues social media? You get a people who only care about right now, and have no vision for the future.
