Then you need to do more reading because I did work in this field and have read the science on it as well. First all, you have to take into account what time scales are being discussed. What you're reading is, I'm all but certain, just talking about the coming few decades, in which yes, millions at least will likely die. And even then the science that tends to reach the public is toned down, pacified, and doesn't represent the whole truth. You should be familiar with this as a communist trying to get an understanding of what's really going on with the world via popular journalism. Is what you're reading about "catastrophic weather events" also discussing what will be happening 1000 years from now? 10,000? Despite the longer scale, what we are doing right now and in the coming decades will have an effect on those longer scales. Climate change is so much more than simply an intensification of weather events. It is literally a rapid change to the composition of our atmosphere. An atmosphere which has, by the way, been completely altered by life in one of the most chemically fundamental ways possible, from a reducing atmosphere to an oxidizing one. This is what I mean when I say even many leftists just do not understand how extreme the risks are here. A runaway greenhouse wouldn't just kill a billion, it could well end our species and most other species of "higher lifeforms."

Yeah, something of that proportion could not be kept secret even if all NATO member states were all in total agreement and unity and even with the avowed silence of high officials. It also would at least partially defeat the purpose of NATO if a state joining it were to be kept secret.

Unless you're cleaning your cat's litter box on the counter you prepare your food, nope. Eating pork is the main way that people get infected.

I couldn't agree more. About the importance of being able to read reviews of the vendors made by the community and how much of a boon that is for buyers and their well being, something that simply doesn't exist when it comes to buying from irl dealers. But also about how disappointing it is that so many hexbears not only don't understand this but are being really demeaning towards people who don't deserve it.

The whole "no investigation, no right to speak" thing doesn't just apply to the discussion of politics. And some of the attitudes here about people who use DNMs are almost bordering on victim-blaming. You're right, the ubiquitous use of cryptocurrency on the DNMs is not because the people who use them are the cryptobros we all know and hate, it's because that's literally the only safe way for any of this to work. Most people using the DNMs would rather not have to go through the hassle of having to learn to use crypto in the first place, or deal with the small loss of funds every time they convert their real money into it, or risk losing it because they messed up somehow with their wallet address or something. The use of crypto in this case is an unfortunate necessity most would avoid if they could.

The risk of cops busting a buyer (of personal use amounts, or even enough for a couple friends) is almost nil for the DNMs because of the amount of work necessary, but a buyer's odds of getting caught during an in-person deal go up drastically because even if they're just after the dealer, the buyer usually gets fucked too since they're right there and part of the bust. The risk of cops busting a dealer/vendor depends a lot on the volume they move, whether it's online or in person. With good opsec the risk is still much lower for vendors than it is for dealers in person. There's also no risk of getting jumped and beaten/killed while you're making a transaction.

Regardless I'd hook in with local dealers before the Internet. It's pretty easy to walk around, smell weed, and ask for a plug

It's great if that's possible for you, but for lots of people it's not. There are so many circumstances where DNMs are the only real option.

I'm kind of hoping for Trump to win just to see what crazy bullshit it does to libs brains, personally.

They already have been: https://hexbear.net/comment/4091576

Edit: Sorry, I'm catching up by reading from earlier in the news mega towards the newer stuff. I didn't see you had posted another comment later than the above one saying you didn't want to see this stuff. Apologies, comrade.

This is exactly my experience too. It's very similar to the issue I always have with mindfulness practices. I can focus on a particular thought or image, or even just "observe" my inner monologue for the smallest fraction of a second, but then it's right back to the noise of uncontrolled thoughts. Just like you said, I can picture the apple just fine, even in extreme detail, but as soon as I do, it vanishes again and I have to reimagine it anew.

I've likened it to being like a game of Hot Potato my brain unintentionally plays with itself. The same instant I've grasped the potato (or apple in this case) it's tossed away again. It's not hard to catch it again after I toss it, but I can't help but toss it as soon as I do.

I mean yeah, but it wasn't the hair sniffing creepiness and granddaughter lip kissing that really necessitated the killing of #MeToo, though it's a small part of it. There's the whole thing about how he SA'd his office assistant that no one ever talks about now.

I'm trying to find it again but all I'm getting are endless parody posts lol

Not quite the original thread, but it's the post that went up to say that the original post was in poor taste, which is the mark of any good struggle session anyway.

It can be hard to find stuff around here because The Creator likes to do a lot of deleting.

Ukraine has lost. They are not getting their separatist regions back.

Points at the utter failure of the joke of a counteroffensive to even breach Russia's first line of defense after months of hype about retaking Crimea

In any case Ukrainians disagree with you and keep on fighting.

You mean the ones forced to fight because they were kidnapped off the street and will be shot if they try to leave? Or the fascists that are in charge?

Heck even if Russia occupied all of Ukraine they'd keep on fighting.

Part of the reason why Russia does not want to occupy all of Ukraine.

It's not in your hands whether they fight or not,

Nor yours, but it is in the hands of NATO leadership who have stymied peace negotiations at every opportunity.

and their motive is just

[citation needed]

so why not help them?

Why would we want to help people get forced into a meat grinder?
