You're the best!
Thanks for following up! That is really interesting
Sounds good! It's definitely been a while since I watched that episode. We are currently re-watching TNG and I really don't feel like taking a break from that to watch DSC lol. No offence, Dr Stamets 😅
I didn't think about interference. It is pretty close to the bed heating cable and the extruder cable. Probably touching those at points. I will probably stick with the SD card until I can get a Pi and use a much shorter cable. I just lost a print due to this happening 3 times and at this point I don't want to risk it again right away
Yeah I will try switching cables and if it happens again I'm going back to SD cards. I really liked the convenience of it but that is not applicable if it keeps failing
Ahh that makes sense. Both times have been since I switched to a new cable. Guess I got a bad one. I'll switch back to the one I had before.
I love getting paid to learn new stuff. Favorite part about my job
Yeah I definitely want to re-work the whole power supply stuff. I'm not at all happy with that either. Thanks for the feedback! I have had my arduino for like 2 days so I haven't figured out all the options yet lol
I can upload the cad file if you want to use some of the design, but it's pretty messy. I know enough about fusion 360 to know I'm not using all the right tools
I have only one printer and it is a sovol sv06 so I can't compare it to any creality printers, but it has been great. My understanding is that the sv06 is a clone of a prusa printer. I have had extremely minimal tinkering with mine (other than lubricating bearings once) and I have been printing most days for the past month. I'm sure the prusa has better QC and better customer support but the sovol was less than half the price
That's where I got mine, and some bases to remix into my own designs
Good article. I have worked as a dev for over 10 years and have seen a LOT of really complicated spaghetti code that was only maintained by individuals in silos. Some used to joke about "job security" but I would rather my life not be a living nightmare unable to take vacation without keeping my work phone on me at all times because I'm the single person that knows how to fix a mission critical system. I've been there. It sucks for new people but it also sucks for the keepers of the tribal knowledge. It's exhausting.
Training, documenting, refactoring and replacing to eliminate that is good for everyone. If you are a good dev you won't have to keep tribal knowledge to stay employed.
That's a great idea! I did start writing some things down but not with dates or times so I'll start a proper log
