8gb of RAM? What year is this?

What media is an LLM going to be able to reproduce that I can't already reproduce with a copy paste?

Why does everyone keep saying child poverty?

Like, do children in other countries have some sort of massive wealth I'm not aware of?

It's just so hard to see where we transition from here.

We went from a resource economy to a manufacturing economy to a service economy... And now many services are being automated. So what's next?

I'm in favor of the automation but recognize it's going to cause pain in the near future.

I've seen people tout a 'creative based economy', but to be honest LLMs and GANs seen poised to grab that sector before anyone in service can transition to it.

You'd hope all of this would mean an easier life, but so long as capitalism is the name of the game there is zero incentive to spread the benefits among all.

As far as international law goes no this is not a war crime.

If your military takes refuge or uses a civilian center for military operation then that location becomes a valid military target regardless of the risk to civilian lives.

Basically Hamas is commiting the crime by purposefully setting up in these areas. Once they do that then civilian death is acceptable collateral damage, legally speaking.

Israel is asshole.

Hamas is asshole.

I guess it isn't so complex after all.

Naw, lots of us stopped when Netflix streaming came in full swing.

Yeah. This is the one that came to my mind.

Dude straight up ended his career. His band members left, label dropped him and his colabs said they wouldn't work with him anymore.

Turns out he was a lieutenant in the oath keepers and the FBI grabbed him. Last I heard he made a plea deal and got put into the witness protection program.

He is the band and it can't exist without him. Even if he could continue, he'd have to rebuild it from the ground up.

It's a shame, I really Loved Demons and Wizards, the iced earth / blind guardian colab group.

... Based on some song lyrics I feel I should have seen this coming when looking back though.

Good. Embrace me technology.

[-] Kepabar@startrek.website 12 points 1 year ago

Hasn't happened to me yet, but I know it will.

Sucks; but to be honest most of the YouTube things I watch have been moving off YouTube for awhile anyway.

First Reddit, now YouTube. This year is a year of change for my Internet habits.

Where do they 'pull out' to exactly?

[-] Kepabar@startrek.website 11 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

It's not even about that.

Like 99% of women have hit menopause by 55, and the number of births for mothers over 50 with no medical intervention in the conception process is extremely low. So low that Wikipedia has an article detailing specific women it's happened to.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pregnancy_over_age_50

This wouldn't be a huge deal, except a major plot point is that it was an accidental pregnancy neither of them planned for. So it's not like she was getting any kind of fertility treatment.

While not impossible it just makes Jacks conception extremely unlikely
