I feel like DLC is just a re-branding of ‘expansion packs’ that we used to have in the 90s.

Pacific Drive is looking incredible!

That’s cool! I would assume there are tradeoffs in other areas, nothing is perfect. But that sounds nice.

Babylon 5 & Subnautica. That could be interesting lol.

Edit: technically the last one I played was Super Mario Wonder with my kid yesterday, although overall I am working through Subnautica.

Your example about BoTW is really good. I never played the earlier Zelda games and had near-zero interest in them. Then a friend let me borrow their BoTW cart and I absolutely fell in love with it. Still no interest in playing the earlier ones though.

Looks like the scout ship from TNG.

My original reaction still stands - ‘but why though?’ The first reboot was almost perfect and definitive.

Our family has never tried to drag us on a cruise, but I feel like this would me and my wife almost to a T. I do not get cruises at all, besides maybe Alaskan cruises. I’d much rather go to a country and visit it for real, not just go to some touristy resort.

Not so much cosmic horror, but definitely the sense of awe and scale (both physically and time wise), the Xeelee Sequence by Stephen Baxter. ‘Vacuum Diagrams’ is a short story collection that spans the timeline and I think it’s a good introduction to see if you’ll like it.

Edit: I guess there is some cosmic horror, as in ‘what could make an ancient and powerful race so scared and helpless that they need to build an escape hatch in the universe?’

So anyone played it yet and have any thoughts to share?

I thought it was fine. Some nice moments, some good nostalgia, but that’s about it.
