Definitely true and it annoys the shit out of me that if you point any of this out to people who like these movies and view them through a very nostalgic lense, they get so defensive and angry. This stuff is always hilarious to me. Like you see essentially the entire industry in every country change their designs and materials to what they are now with crumple zones etc with experts in safety and car design. Then some random guy is like uhh yeah it's actually better if they do it old school.

I'm curious about this too and am very skeptical about it once I'd seen reddit praise the policy. The president seems like a complete right wing freak to me and I don't see how just arresting tens of thousands of people does anything to solve the root of the problem.
