Yeah I definitely agree although it does seem like a controversial issue even amongst some leftists. Especially with hard drugs like heroin or meth. Depending on how strict the controls are there probably would always be a black market for things I think.
Like those ayahuasca retreats where they rip off yuppies?
That is a great point about feeling like you're being watched all the time. Maybe it's something you can get used to after a couple of days.
I guess with current laws it would be in the hands of organised crime which isn't really ideal. Full scale legalisation would have to take into effect.
Out of interest though, do you think in a socialist or communist society all drugs would be legalised and regulated or would there still be some which wouldn't be available?
Oh hell yeah
Also ruining tennis courts too
Thank you for your detailed response, I appreciate the time and knowledge! Is there any particular text you can recommend, especially around the native and black movements? I think it would help to view things from a wholly different perspective.
I do agree though about it being an "event" or a consequence rather than an explicit goal. Having partly lived through the balkanization of Jugoslavia, it's a topic that's a personal interest. If anyone's got good recs on that I would also be very interested!
