The ISS is a giant disappointment, but I always take comfort that the first person in space, Yuri Gagrin, was born on a collective farm. The first person up there was a worker, and that means the universe to me

This would be the funniest thing ever if it wasn't Sorbo saying it

Utah would 100 percent become its own nation. It's kind of a huge part of Mormon folklore/prophecy, that's literally what Mormons mean by Zionism.

I've never been a stimulant person, even in my days of heavy drug use I didn't like stimulants. But one time, someone must have used my rolling tray for meth. I have a curse where for some reason, I have accidentally taken meth twice. Never used it intentionally. I can't even handle caffeine so meth just isn't something I want period. There was a tiny purple salt flake on my rolling tray, thinking nothing of it I give it a lick to see what it is. Hour later, I'm confused by what I just ingested because I had never done meth, but knew for a fact that I took something. Night goes on, I end up downloading Grindr, and before I even had my account set up I just think for a second and say "goddamnit that was meth".

Actual actions mean very little in American politics, Biden hasn't had a racist enough aesthetic to benefit off his racism electorally.

Tom Scott asks viewers if they know of any interesting places for him to go visit, since his videos are about interesting places and things. Nothing crazy, essentially like a music critic asking if any fans want an album reviewed. Which many will actually charge for via Patreon. The fan who requests the video didn't make the video. Many of his videos contain too much personal experience to be plagarised or anything of the sort, it's obvious that Tom at least has a major role in writing the videos.

Plus, he pays people to subtitle and revoice his videos in a ton of different languages. I think it's odd to assume that he doesn't pay people that help with writing when it's been shown that he pays people for services that Google literally asks fans to do for free.

Calling it "wanting to use ideas for free" is technically accurate but wrong. Asking fans what videos they want to see typically isn't seen as a bad thing. Dude traveled the globe for a decade looking for random cool shit and local town lores, of course he's asking his giant community for leads on weird local things.

Veganism isn't really that big of a debate on here. People are either vegan or not vegan. As long as people aren't being disrespectful assholes in areas where they shouldn't (someone posting recipes on /c/food with a meat CW, /c/vegan, ect.) I really don't see much fighting over it.

Should have started the WFPB discourse instead, people over here get really heated over cooking oils. Going anti-cooking oil would be a hilarious piece of bait

You see olive oil frying used for very specific foods, and they make pretty big differences when people actually go for it. I typically fry in peanut or corn oil at home, it's the cheapest where I live and has the best flavor. However, something like Italian artichoke hearts, or Greek "beneigts" (or whatever they call them) the olive oil is a night and day difference. Idk, it's a practice more for restaurants than anything. Most people aren't discerning enough to know when an olive oil fry is worth it, because it is very rare.

Also, Kenji does food science for restaurants. When we're talking about frying things and don't care about creating smoke, it's because we're in professional kitchens with good ventilation, and are charging people out the ass for a plate so we have to make sure shit is REALLY good so our restaurants don't become part of the 90 percent. There is nothing wrong with him answering a question, and dunking on the suburban food snobs you don't like. It's not that we should be frying things in olive oil, anybody can tell you that's too expensive to be worth it. It's about not deligitimizing cooking processes for a reason that isn't even true. You have any idea how many times some rich fuck I was a private cook for tried to not pay for their food because "you can't fry in olive oil because it burns the oil" like they weren't happily using said "burnt" olive oil to eat 2 loaves of bread. It's about not letting people be armchair experts on subject matters they don't understand

Narcan is one helluva drug. I've overdosed on fent twice. First was pretty minor, just a normal opiate overdose. 1 narcan and I was back up and running just fine instantly. She said it literally felt like hitting the power button on me, and it really kinda felt the same way. But eventually I relapsed again, and ended up snorting a quarter of the fentiest fent press to ever fent and had a TRUE fent overdose. My partner gave me 3 narcans and I didn't come back. She had to get on top of me and start doing CPR for quite a while for me to wake back up. I couldn't hear during this, but I knew I was totally fucked when I started seeing dead people I dearly missed and shadow people.

I mean me and all the other lesbians were the ones excited for the 2013 reboot in middle school. Not a single boy I knew played that game. We went to game stop in droves for Tomh Raider.

I mean the most popular genre of book last decade was the "what if privileged white people got treated like they were gay and/or black?"
