In my time of using Linux, to my knowledge, I can't recall a kernel panic. I've had my boot record break, graphics drivers simply not want to load (that was fixable, just annoying), or GNOME Display Manager crashout hard related to a memory leak. I use Ubuntu and Fedora KDE these days, at most there is an occasional bug that doesn't cause major issues. Just little annoyances that can be solved with an upcoming update or using the terminal.

That's the thing, just because there is a breakage doesn't mean there isn't a way to fix it. It just becomes a cycle of breakage and repair...Arch goes through cycles of being temporarily broken and back to working just fine. This is merely the nature of rolling release (part of the reason why I am not a rolling release distro).

Naturally, if one has the skill to fix Arch, it would be of no real concern. It might be annoying, but it seems that you can overcome those temporary disruptions caused by introduced bugs

I feel that you need to gently, but firmly, state your feelings on this matter to him. Reassure him that you don't want him to completely stop playing games, just that you would enjoy having one on one time with him for at least a few hours a day. As part of a relationship, is reinforcing that connection which was initially formed by dating, and building upon it. To me, his fixation of gaming screams escapism...As it is easier to avoid dealing with discomfort than to face it head-on (I speak from experience on that matter). He's not a bad dude, like you said, he is fighting (or avoiding) serious internal struggles.

I am aware of their lack of majority and inability to filibuster a reconciliation bill. While these actions seem useful, it is merely born of desperation. Regardless, these are at least steps that can be taken to minimize the massive oncoming harm.

There is a reason behind this lack of majority though: they've failed to energize voters, they've let the cult of personality Trump win over reason. They've lost seats because of a lack of attention, and complacency. If they hadn't, we'd be in a very different situation right now.

The few nominees that had a chance to keep Democrats in control of vital offices, were either sidelined or actively fought against, Zohran Kwame Mamdani is a recent example of a candidate for a Mayoral position that the DNC pit a controversial sex pest Andrew Cuomo against...Even dusting off Bill Clinton to back Andrew, but at least Zohran is still in the running, ATM. I can only hope young candidates like him can help shift the political landscape for the better in the future. If America can endure, at least.

ROFL Democrats are pretty useless these days...I've been calling my representatives, sending letters, and generally being more politically involved to make sure this terrible reconciliation bill dies in a fire. I hope to oust the republicans who represent Kansas too. They are so cursed and incompetent, spineless and weak in the face of donor daddies telling them what to do.
