I knew there was a horrific-looking movie for Inkheart and I was a fan of the original book, but I didn't know there was a game adaptation of the film adaptation. Wild!

I like Lemmy more than I thought I would but it's really rough in areas that Reddit's polished more and it also is, well, pretty quiet. It's a little hard to really dive into it when so much is clearly missing on even just the people not being there. I certainly miss a lot of subs I'd spend more time on, subs that have miles more subscribers than people who even use Lemmy as a whole. I'm hoping that more people jump over to here but it's definitely not the same because there is still a void left unfilled. But I'll live, it certainly reduces how much time I use social media overall since I never was a Twitter user.

I really enjoyed Click (as well as most of Sandler's films) but I'm honestly terrified of rewatching them because I feel like there's a 50% chance I'll hate them in the present for (insert really poor taste joke that is either homophobic, transphobic, or ableist). Click especially because I know there is supposedly something rough in it and I'm conflicted on if I want to find my old DVD of the film and possibly ruin the movie.

That said, I now want to watch Uncut Gems because of this post, so maybe I'm doomed to watch Sandler films.

You would be surprised by how many of us chose off a video game character.

Is there any Discord bot that can automatically post Lemmy threads to a channel? I would use webhooks to do so for Reddit for easy use with the server our subreddit had, but since moving to Lemmy and the API death, that doesn't work and now we need an equivalent for Lemmy. So, anybody know if any exist yet?

Funny enough, an artist called Fallout Boy did recently do a We Didn't Start The Fire parody to try and be more up to date on content.

That said, aside from being completely out of order, it's controversial for some of its... questionable lyrical choices, for lack of a better word.

So, I was curious and realized that for whatever reason, I can't see my own community !nier@lemm.ee on lemmy.ml or Blahaj Zone. I can see it if I try using lemmy.world, but not the others. My comments at least show up.

Is this a bug with the federation difficulties or is it one of those problems of being defederated?

Some examples of my profile. Posts should have more than just the game development one I made since I've done posts to the community made on this instance.

Third party apps let you get the benefit of choosing exactly what works best for you and getting a setup you enjoy. Most of the focus by instance admins would be on ensuring everything doesn't implode and managing fees, but third party apps have a pure focus on usability and dedicate all their resources to making the best experience possible and then the end result is usually way nicer.

This message is being written on a third party app, funny enough! Memmy to be specific.

I honestly don't mind this. This is really useful for small creators in not needing to do workarounds for Patreon or Patreon roles and this makes it easier by being baked into Discord itself. I get the worry of stuff being paywalled but since it is entirely set by the server owner/creator, it would be something to take up with them instead. The 10% cut is a bit rough but I know other platforms also take a cut, but I'm not too sure if 10% is high or low. That would be my own biggest concern since it only makes sense if it is comparable or lower than other platforms like Patreon.
