Found this one online while browsing for what cats shouldn't eat. However I feel like this area is quite controversial and opinionated. Also feels like half the websites are written by AI and riddled with ads. So if anyone has a good source as to what cats should avoid then let me know.

Anyways, I found this nice illustration, but wanted to hear with you peeps whether you have any experience regarding these food items.

Also what's your take on milk/sour milk for cats? My previous cat loved it so much, and she aged until she was 17 years old, and never seemed to have a problem with it. Also asked the vet at the time and she said it was OK. However every other website I visit tell to never give milk(dairy) to cats. So which is it? Does it just depend on the cat?

I personally got hired recently, and did ask this in one of the interviews, and luckily we can choose which OS we get to run on the machines. However only those with Windows get IT support if needed. Which I guess is fair.. Hope you get your wishes fulfilled!

Just came across this game, and seems like a very good game for people who are into Terraria and or Factioro, as this seems to be a mix of the two. Quite the smart idea if you ask me. The planned Release Date is 27 Mar, 2024, however there is a Demo available on Steam already. I've never played Factorio so dont judge me to harshly if there isnt too much to compare :P

AutoForge is a 2D automation sandbox adventure. Build an automated factory reaching up to the sky and deep underground, uncover a vast world filled with wonder and danger, upgrade yourself with ancient technologies, and defend it all from enemy attack.

Don't forget to add to wishlist to show support for indie games, Steam Link โค๏ธ

There are quite a few choices of brands when it comes to purchasing harddisks or ssd, but which one do you find the most reliable one? Personally had great experiences with SeaGate, but heard ChrisTitus had the opposite experience with them.

So curious to what manufacturers people here swear to and why? Which ones do you have the worst experience with?

Hiya folks,

Was watching some videos today, and I am using Newpipe on mobile, Freetube on PC and SmartTube on TV. However, I have been curios about two things.

  1. Does the viewership count when using these services to the videos?
  2. Does the "subscribe" count increase when using these services? Or is it just purely local, the subscriptions i mean.

Hiya, I'm looking to keep track of my different services in hosting via Unraid. Right now I'm hosting roughly 12 different services, but would be nice to have the logs of all my services in one place, preferably with a nice GUI. Are there any such services that could easily connect to the different docker containers I have running?

Appreciate any suggestions ๐Ÿ™Œ

Hiya, just switched to GrapheneOS and am beyond happy with it, surpassed all my expectations. However I am on the hunt for a simple video editing app. AFAIK, Fossify gallery app doesn't let you edit videos, nor does the default one by Graphene, at least when I try, there is a message that says something a long the lines like "could not find the right app".

So either I'm doing something wrong or I need a video editing app, if the latter, hit me up with your recommendations ๐Ÿค—

Warp is the modern, Rust-based terminal with AI built in so you and your team can build great software, faster.

Believe this terminal has been out for a while on other platforms, but just hit the linux market too. Personally been looking forwards to this one for a while, but don't have any prior experience with it - so kinda hoping its as good as it looks.

Edit: Some fair points in comments that terminals shouldn't need cloud login. Personally thought that was an optional thing for people who wanted sync capability.

Hi there, I've had a broken phone lying around for ages, only kept it as I know there are some pictures and files I wish I could gain access to again. I've tried a variety of methods gaining access to the files, but it doesn't seem possible as I cannot actually use the screen to "allow usb transfer" etc.. Is there any methods I might have missed or something that could help me retrieve these files?

It's an Huawei Mate 10 Pro.

Any tips, tricks and recommendations are appreciated ๐ŸŒป

Just got this recommended to me by a friend, seems like a really great platform for smaller businesses. Has anyone heard of them before, or tried them out?

Title says it really, I really want to have both the sleep and hibernate option added to this part of my setup, but how? I use the Application Dashboard for when I click the meta button.

Am on NixOS if that has anything to say in the matter.

Personally work in IT, mostly fixing server and infrastructure. Big fan of listening to ambiance music while working: the kind of music and sounds that make you forget that you're listening to it, to me, that's the perfect kind of working music. Otherwise I will listen to game and movie soundtracks from Lotr, Star Wars, Ghilbi, Harry Potter etc.. I used to be all into lofi, but need a break from it now.

Anyways, please share your favorite music to listen to while working, and let us know what you work as too! More fun to see how the profession match with music taste.

Have a nice rest of your day ๐ŸŒป

I have to use certain Microsoft apps for work, so I strictly only use the web versions as I am on Linux. However, just seen this setting pop up in Word while working on a document. I wonder what in specific they would change, considering i am on Firefox. Does anyone know anything about this? Is there an actual good reason for me to allow this, and if did what would it change?

Believe that most people here on this platform would agree with you on that, consider your rant redeemed :)

Love how this has almost 80 dislikes (as of writing this), as if they actually took it personally ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hahah thats me! :P (lemmy is a small world) My main focus is most likely going to be free vpn's and the risk of using them. I have to limit the scope quite a bit and want to cover areas that are not that well properly documented... yet..

But thanks for the tips! I will defo read up on it and see wheter or not I can have a "alternatives" section towards the end.

Edit -> This research paper might feed your temporary needs :P https://www.usenix.org/system/files/usenixsecurity23-ramesh-vpn.pdf

although a good mentality, its not always correct. Also, this isn't just about "asking", it's fighting big corps/tech to be more transparent about their policies.

I recently switched to KDE and got sooo confused by this not being default. Good they're making the change, small but important.

Saw someone on lemmy calling it 'Ten', thought that was quite funny.

The most recent Samsung TV we got has built in adds on the home screen, i do not want to see ads when ive used hundreds of euros to buy the TV already. Not much I can do to avoid that.

Could look into using exiftool, qpdf or pdftk, if you are comfortable with the terminal โœจ
