..I'm still the product?

Yes. You always will be with any corporate streaming service.

I get that, but like the things I mentioned, most porn/comics/TV is boring, predictable, generic crap and a waste of time and brain cells. So, I don't understand why most porn/comics/TV is popular either. Absolute garbage! I can think of a thousand things I'd rather be doing than sifting through all that generic crap.

In the browser? Has that been introduced?

YES! A hide sports button sounds amazing. Including car sports of course.

And a hide Hentai/Manga/Anime button. I don't understand its popularity.

A hide Games/Gaming/Gamer button including PS1-7, Xbox, Playstation etc..

Definitely a hide Furry/yiff/fetish button.

A boobs/celeb/shoes button

A religion button.

People can look at whatever they like, but it would be amazing of my block list could be reduced from a thousand to a couple. The brilliant thing about federated instances is also one of the most annoying. If you block something on lemmy.world you likely have the same community on lemmy.ml or many of the other instances. Blocking the exact thing five times is tedious.

I would love a simpler Nix.

You've summed up my whole entire experience with NixOS. I too would love a simpler Nix, and couldn't quite commit to the time to learn everything. As a compromise I've been content to continue with nixpkgs and nix-env on Pop!_OS.

Having said, I've noticed a LOT of new nix flakes being added to System76's new Rust based COSMIC desktop environment's packages. And I'm hearing talk of immutability. Maybe we'll get our wish.

This article neglects to point out that the initial join up number was a deceptive and manipulative corporate strategy which amounts to smoke and mirrors. 100 million people didn't join up for threads! Meta created a placeholder account for every Instagram account in existence. People were able to follow an account that the owner of never made or approved of. Then to top it off, Meta made it initially impossible to delete said placeholder unless you delete your whole Instagram. Nice retention strategy. Too bad it smells like a corporate dump on it's users. When it became possible for people to delete it without losing Instagram it halved overnight. But they got the big media headline, and that's all that matters right. Meta, and threads, is just a pathetic attempt to retain the centralized control of ~~customer~~ ~~people~~ ~~user~~ account holder data, identity and advertising profile as we transition into web3. Don't be lazy. Take control of your own data and identity. These corporate assholes have proven beyond any doubt that they despise people and will abuse you, your rights and privacy without hesitation or remorse. Just quit those broken and failed centralized corporate web2 advertising platforms already.

This sums up the demeanor and intelligence of a lot of drivers where I am.

lol, more like just "dog in a room". You know, it's good. It's not great. It's fine. Just use it. What is amazing compared to Reddit is Lemmy's decentralized, federated nature.

This is fine.

Mark was right to call the people he’s leaching off of fucking idiots.

It was "dumbfucks". In context, people who trust Zuckerberg with their personal information are dumbfucks. His words.

[-] M4775@lemmy.world 30 points 1 year ago

No! - I'm not a dumbfuck. Mark Zuckerberg once said people who trust him with their personal information are dumbfucks. I have never had an account on any of his platforms, and never will. If something I'm using integrated with his products I'd just stop using it. Just no!

My favorite Android game has always been, and still is, OSMOS. It used to be in the play store. You can still get it on Android from Hemisphere. There's also iOS, Ipad, Steam (for Linux), OS X and Windows versions. I love this game so much I keep an ancient 7" pad with Marshmallow 6 offline just for it (Because I had the original on it - You don't need an ancient device).
