In a letter sent to Uruguay's Minister of Education Pablo Da Silveira, a spokesperson for Spotify said: "If the proposed reform became law in its current form, Spotify's business in Uruguay could become unfeasible, to the detriment of Uruguayan music and its fans," claiming that the amendment would force it to "pay twice" the amount of royalties.

Spotify currently pays out at 70%. Doubling royalties would cause them to pay out more than they make in subscription and ad revenue. This is why they're shutting down.

Seems there are possibly two entities that could be liable for the accident.

A. The developers...they did not turn over responsibility of roadwork to the NC DOT after the subdivision was completed, and had no road maintenance plan in place. This also means they would be responsible for marking the roadway that the bridge was out.

B. Google...they had multiple requests to change the map to indicate the bridge was out, and they didn't update their maps. Even Mapquest and Apple Maps have their maps updated.

Honestly, at this point I don't see any coming back from this. It's been a damned good effort, but Reddit isn't going to back down at this point. The mods are going to have to put up with it or leave. I'd hope they'd leave, but honestly I don't think there's going to be a mass exodus of moderators.

I honestly think the article should have given a little more focus to the fact the API pricing isn't something disagreed upon, but the main backlash is due to the pricing out of 3rd party apps by making it outrageously expensive. Give at least an extra paragraph describing what happened between Selig and Reddit.
