How is the revolution remembered and used politically today?

A few years ago the mainstream right was doing the harmless Disneyfied version thing you mentioned. They would say the revolution gave us "freedom and democracy" and belongs to everyone, not just the left.

Nowadays they are getting more and more mask off about it. Chuds are embracing Estado Novo nostalgia and liberals frequently undermine the revolution by saying November 25th was just as important (minor revolt by some leftist troops that was put down by the government, but they act like it was an attempted communist coup to destroy Freedom™ and turn us into Cuba (sicko-wistful )). The right pretty much despises the entire 1974-1975 revolutionary period as some kind of barely averted communist dictatorship because some bougie fascists lost their factories.

I know that the word "socialism" was written into the constitution but does it mean anything?

No, it's a historic curiosity. But neoliberals use that and the fact that the Socialist party has "socialist" in the name to pretend like we've had 50 years of uninterrupted socialism and that's why the economy is bad, because socialism doesn't work. It's absolute baby brained shit but lots of younger people are buying into it.

And lastly, how does the revolution inspire leftists today?

References to April 25 are very common in Portuguese left wing politics. The Communist Party is especially fond of them. But it's a somewhat bittersweet feeling, as most of the more radical demands and experiments from that period were abandoned over time and what remains is heavily weakened by decades of neoliberal creep.

Holy shit. A Hamas guy came into my room to take my plate of chicken nuggets and I literally screamed at him and hit the plate of chicken nuggets out of his hand. He started yelling and swearing at me and I slammed the door on him. I'm so distressed right now I don't know what to do. I didn't mean to do that to Hamas but I'm literally in shock from the Al-Aqsa Flood tonight. I feel like I'm going to explode. Why the fucking fuck are we losing? This can't be happening. I'm having a fucking breakdown. I don't want to believe the world is so anti-Israel. I want a future to believe in. I want Bibi to resign and fix this broken country. I cannot fucking deal with this right now. It wasn't supposed to be like this, I thought the IDF was invincible???? This is so fucked.

Hamas has a network of terror-backrooms that they access by no-clipping into the walls of hospitals, that's where they store the 4D hyper-missiles

It's not a joke. They made a mistake transcribing a phone call where the economy minister was mentioned he-laughed

I was doing this too but apparently I've been autofiltered out of r/worldnews for posting too hard. Every comment I've ever made there has been deleted. They didn't even ban me, which is the most reddit-logo moderator thing imaginable.

Liberals are so, so fucking baby-brained. Everything that happens is a completely unexpected event disconnected from anything else (unprovoked attack!) and it must be reacted to because it's on television right now. Israel routinely kills civilians but the music festival is what the television is talking about so that's all that matters right now. We must strongly condemn it and once that's done we can go back to being occasionally sad at the plight of Palestinians. They get angry at whatever they're being shown, in the proportion that it is being shown to them, and their opinions all align with what the pundits are saying, which is how you know they are big brained independent thinkers free from ideology.

If you try to explain that maybe the bigger issue here is Israeli apartheid, how it created Hamas, how it gave Palestinians no choice other than violent resistance, how it radicalized Palestinians by being an unrelentingly ghoulish genocidal state every single day, making something like this pretty much inevitable at some point, they hit you with the "So you think terrorism is ok? maybe-later-honey Have you considered that, maybe, Hamas also bad? maybe-later-kiddo "
