Elmo prefers the neo-classical agrarianism of the late 18th century to earlier art movements.

Ah yeah....most people born after 1980 didn't get that...

Wait, so he pulled a gun to keep the plane on course during a medical emergency!?

There are some really good Vegan "Cheeses" but ultimately they can replicate the taste but the texture just won't be there and they struggle to get the level of Umami of even fairly light cheeses. They're a loooong way from a passable Brie.

The idea that primaries are open to the general public and not just paid up party members (or, even internal selection committees with only indirect accountability to the rank and file members) is wild. The US doesn't have political parties in the real sense that other countries do, unless of course the "Wrong" candidate gets voted in.

Genuinely felt like the guy at the end of The Witness. Kept trying to reload my fork at dinner.

Being chased by an armed gang that hates the thing you're having a mental crisis with rarely helps matters.

I like to think there's enough of a vestige of Alabama Communalism left to make them embrace him, but it's hard to know as you say.

There was the AIDS crisis which wiped out an entire generation of LGBT+ people and was accompanied by a major scare campaign. Since a lot of Trans people (possibly most non-closeted ones) at the time were sex workers it hit them even harder.

In the late 80s-90s things got better, to the extent that a Trans person was in some ways considered less controversial than being gay, if they were otherwise socially conforming, but the rise of "Moral Majority" types and the general right wing push towards conservative sexual mores after Clinton's shitbaggery finally managed to put an end to that.

You can see it in the change in problematic sitcom vibes from "Hahaha Male lead's best high school friend is now a hot girl, but she still loves football and beer and they get along great! Funny and heartwarming and let's not look too hard at what the writer's fetishes might be!" to "I accidentally dated a trans woman and now I might be gay, how could she trick me like that, they might trick you, the audience too! I will now nobly restrain myself from violence but still shame and humiliate the trans person! This is also not the writer's barely contained but somehow much worse fetish."

I think it's more that the transitions are jarring. If they'd made jumps and inter planetary transitions first person cutscene loads like a lot of space games like freelancer, there'd be less complaining. And occasionally they are that and they decided not to make it the only way.

Anyway script extender is now out, so open cities and better transitions are likely a monthbor two away.

Nah, industrial and infrastructure should mostly use BSD. And "Never see a command line" consumer OS's should generally be forks from Linux or other FOSS. Most Linux distros have come a long way and are ready for gaming prime time, but fail the "80 year old grandma who wants to digitise her record collection but is a bit unclear on double-clicking" test.
