I hate that people in charge were never able to properly communicate this subtle difference.

It was communicated just fine. I got that info. You got that info. It was out there. But the signal to noise ratio was unreal. People seem to prefer soundbites and false dichotomies over accurate, nuanced information. Sprinkle in a metric shitton of wedge issue misinformation delivered via sledgehammer and you get what we got:

VACCINE BAD!

VACCINE GOOD!

GRANDPA HAVE VACCINE BUT STILL DIE!

VACCINE STILL GOOD!

I HAVE VACCINE BUT STILL GET SICK AND BOSS MAKE ME STAY HOME AND NO GET MONEY! VACCINE BAD!

VACCINE... BAD?

DOCTOR LIED! SCIENCE BAD!

Well actually...

YOU STUPID, VACCINE BAD!

VACCINE BAD!

COVID OVER, NO NEED VACCINE!

HOORAY!

The US loves the cartels. They get us all the drugs we consume and give us a lucrative market to sell our surplus small arms.

Getting a heat pump has been on my want-to-do list for years. But even though my furnace is aging, it still works so it's been hard to justify while there were other issues going on. Accelerating adoption is only going to make the process easier when the time comes.

Yeah, this shit happens all the time in NJ. Related to someone powerful? Here, have a free political position!

Andy Kim is getting my vote in the primary but with Murphy getting anointed like this, the full weight of the machine is going to be behind her.

Is it weird, as a tail end gen x/elder millennial, to really hope Lehrer was right about this one?

We just watched that one last night after a week and a half of dealing with heavy shit that still isn't done yet. Not really the episode I would have chosen to dip the toes back in after trauma, but that's what was up next. Still a great ep.

There's a thousand mile expanse of woods and bullshit across the northern states where you could just walk through the forests into Canada.

I've always wanted to get eaten by a moose.

And if you remove the beard, you get my brother in law. Who is admittedly not as famous as Lincoln, but I'm more interested in creeping out my sister in law.
