Only tankies get Xi bucks. I'm saving mine up for a life-size replica of Stalin's holodomer spoon.
Only in some countries. Somewhere between 1/3 and 1/4 of the entire population of the world is infected with TB. Covid ~~only~~ made this worse in part because access to treatment became less consistent from 2020-2022.
Edit:
My point with this comment was that TB never "became history" outside of the imperial core. It has long posed the single highest healthcare burden from a single infectious disease despite being virtually unknown in the imperial core.
Covid temporarily unseated TB from its number 1 spot, but this wasn't because the TB burden was relieved and people were cured. The healthcare burden of covid has decreased (not because it went away) and now TB is number 1 again.
Reddit also regularly claims the DPRK doesn't feed anyone but the Kims, as if they inherited Stalin's spoon. The shelves are full of fake food. The people are all in concentration camps the people live in constant fear of imprisoning future generations of their people. Etc. etc. etc.
So much garbage, so little evidence, just like everything else on Reddit. That's why literal experts get downvoted into oblivion.
WTF is this social credit score nonsense? This is AMERICA. Keep that stuff in communist CHINA.
The definition of Imperialism you are working from is not the same as those replying to you. You are working from the non-Marxist definition of imperialism while others are working from the Marxist definition. From Prolewiki:
Lenin is often credited for having synthesized a Marxist analysis of imperialism with the publishing of his pamphlet Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism in 1916, most notably on the foundation of the earlier work of John A. Hobson entitled Imperialism: A Study. Beginning with the first paragraph of his pamphlet, Vladimir Lenin wrote that rapid growth of industry and concentration of production in growing enterprises represent the key characteristic of capitalism.[1]
Multiple theorists have updated, deepened, developed or critically engaged with the classical analysis of Imperialism. Other theorists developed different conceptualisations, including most notably Kwame Nkrumah, remaining situated within the framework of scientific socialism. Most recently, the concept of neoimperialism has emerged in the work of Cheng Enfu.
The development of imperialism in the global economy also reinforces a dialectical relationship between core-periphery countries, mainly dependency and subordination of underdeveloped countries to imperialist economies. In conjunction with these developments, new theoretical models were proposed to understand developments, such as dependency theory and world-systems theory.

Yeah, but it seemed like he misspoke. In the same sentence, he referred to her as VP Trump.
Which do you prefer: the New York Crimes or the Failing New York Times?
Personally, I'm all about "that bourgeois rag."
At this point, they should never stop. Let's collectively and unapologetically punish capital across the world until capitalism is dead. Then the criminals should be tried in the people's court and held accountable for their crimes against all of us.
No amount of damage to shipping can bring back the lives that have been lost.
If you're not aware of how democratic centralism works, may I suggest reading Chapter Three of Anna Louise Strong's "This Soviet Life." My issue with your comment was not about the election in Taiwan, but your use of the word totalitarian.
If you think getting a mere 40% of the vote (of those who participated) and then being allowed to dictate to 100% of the population is unquestionably the best only form of democracy, then I strongly recommend you read that chapter. It's quite short and easy to read.
As to how this is related to owning the means of production, maybe this will help you understand how who owns the means of production plays a major role in how a country and elections are run. It's a matter of who has the power to give authority, not who has authority to use that power. Representatives who were voted in by <40% of the population and whose actions are not beholden to even those 40% sounds a lot more totalitarian to me.
Lol, you just assumed they care about material reality or other humans!
It gets worse than this.
Not only does most scientific instrument software become abandonware, but there are companies that sell instruments that use the exact same components as they did 20 years ago. The only difference is now they swapped the stainless steel parts for plastic and charge luxury car prices for what will be a piece of garbage in 3 years. These pieces have nothing to do with chemical compatibility and everything to do with increasing the frequency of maintenance that the older models never needed.
Omg, the blue sky comments made me want to hurl. All this over a filibuster to stop nothing? Couldn't have pulled this shit when it actually would do something, I guess.
