Private landlords are not as bad. If everyone had only one house there'd be nowhere to rent unless you only want to rent the room.
Now corporate landlords. They own so much real estate it's practically a monopoly. And as a business they're profit driven and exploit their tenants. I think renting wasn't so bad before companies started investing in real estate.
An instance owner having access to the database can surely change the password to access the account and then change it back. If you're the server owner, you can do anything you want directly on the database.
It's better than ipad anyway. You just stick it in to load music onto it, you don't need iTunes or a cable, and it's nore compact too. I miss those simple devices.

I am on GR but don't rely on it much, just to keep track of read books, and a wishlist.
I used it to pick the best rated Daniel Silva book and was disappointed as o didn't like it. I'd agree that reviews on GR ale not reliable, most people have different taste. What's most annoying is how most reviews there start by summarizing the book which inflates the bloat you have to go through before you get to the review.
I only just checked out bookwyrm now, but i can't find the book I'm currently reading there (the poet by Michael Connelly). It doesn't look like it has as much content.
