"We will randomly attack and kill civilians until you do what we demand" went by another name for quite some time...

But hey... we all know that things like terrorism, war crimes or genocide are suddenly okay once you agree with the cause. So keep being a proud cheerleader for terrorism.

I just don't understand why people are attached to it

Because words aren't racist, people and opinions and sentiments expressed by them are.

When the term ricing is used for so long and 95%+ of people don't know where it came from and have zero negative connotations associated with it, your argument (from their perspective) sounds like this:

"Don't use the term, by its obscure origin you didin't even know about it is racist"

"I've been saying it for years without any racism intended nor perceived"

"bro ~~it's been~~ you are being a fucking racist for years"

And then you are surprised by the negative reaction...

If your conscience and your religion lead you to an idiotic, misogynic and xenophobic fraud with obvious delusions, you don't actually have the former and the latter is irrepairably broken.

Maybe you personally. But money would actually solve all their problems.

All they provide today is a shitty job with bad pay and no future prospects.

They are not finding enough soldiers because all these soft modern young adults are too selfish for that job, just like companies find no employees because those spoiled brats are too lazy to work. Obviously none of it has to do with not providing reasonable payments of course. So forced labor is the the proposed solution.

Flavorful characters can be quite OP in their specific area of expertise (no pun intended) and bad at other stuff.

Why do we always need to pretend that it's one or the other?

[-] Ooops@kbin.social 12 points 11 months ago

Yes, you can. But the usual setup is to have a file system root that is nothing but subvolumes, which you can then use and mount basically as if they were independent partitions. But when you don't create a root subvolume for your system root first, you install the system directly on the file system root alongside created subvolumes. This tends to get messy as strictly speaking the file system root is a subvolume, too. So now you have that with your system installed and all other subvolumes nested inside it.

How often have we heard that empty promise now?

C'mon... you can do it!

...of which one half is brain-washed into wanting to kill the other half, while welcoming any wanna-be dictator with open arms and with a lot of potential applicants for the Darwin-Awards.

Sounds scary... but not for an invader.

And another thread of "oh no! they fuck the environment and us all" when the reality is the lowest coal use in Germany for decades. With a hike in reduction the moment these shitty nuclear reactors providing basically nothing (>2% in the months they were still running) but getting renewable energy shut down were finally gone

Reactivating coal power plants for winter in case they should be needed is not the same as actually burning coal. Not that any of your favorite propagandists would ever tell you that secret.

[-] Ooops@kbin.social 12 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Why? Because you all want to hear that lie. That's the whole reason they tell it. Because you pay in clicks for it. Germany bad always sells no matter how braindead the desinformation being poushed is.

SpaceX is successfull because they not only have competent engineers but are also good at managing Musk by distracting him and steering him away from critical stuff (or personal he might randomly fire).
