Doesn't bother me much honestly, I'd rather be able to follow some of my favourite artists on Threads from the comfort of Mastodon/Lemmy, even if that's only until Threads goes downhill.

Integrating lemmyverse.net's functionality into lemmy itself like in this github issue would fix that by letting users see the actual sub count/activity of each community and incentivise them to join the most popular one.
This needs to be done asap imo; lemmy's discoverability is really bad right now and not user friendly at all
Good read. Onboarding and discoverability are the weakest part of the fediverse and need to be a high priority.
Apps should go as far as assigning new users randomly to a good general instance (vlemmy.net, lemmy.one, lemm.ee etc) if it means the user wouldn't have to know about instances, and integrating lemmyverse.net's functionality into lemmy would both go a long way for both I feel.
People need to stop recommending lemmy.world when it has so many people already; join lemm.ee, vlemmy.net, or lemmy.one instead.
If you're on iOS you can join the testflight on the github to use the app already.
On android, you need to build it yourself for now, or wait (a few weeks probably?) until it's fully released on the playstore.
I am too lol but I prefer a platform that isn't getting worse and worse every day.
It might be better to refer to it by its full name (!piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com) so it doesn't get confusing for new users, since alot of us are seeing this from other instances, some of which have their own /c/piracy.
