Yeah, "go away if you're not happy" is really the lamest answer possible. And he is more like "captain reddit", always freaking out about popularity and subscribers.

"Wait and see" how much money Facebook is ready to put on the table?

Please Zuckerberg, save the fediverse!

[-] PabloDiscobar@kbin.social 3 points 2 years ago

The servers of the fediverse cannot handle the load of facebook. The case is closed before it even begun.

Create your own instance and ask for federation with facebook: Threads won't federate with you. Because they don't know who you are and you did not sign any LEGAL AGREEMENT before you publish on their service through federation. You really think that you can push your content on their servers before you abide to a legal agreement?

You cannot make everything about "your friends". At the end of the day "your friends" use for free an infrastructure worth billions functionning in a legal framework. You didn't think about the business problem and you didn't think about the legal problem.

We absolutely have to defederate from Threads just to stay up and be functional.

Threads won't federate so they can stay out of touch of illegal content. The lemmy populace is radioactive material to Facebook. Even here we are fighting against the random content being NSFW, so imagine the black suits of facebook... imagine the lawyers of facebook having a quick look at what they are about to federate. They will pull the plug on it after their first visit.

So weird and obsessive to not only care about who might disagree with your comment, but to then seek to notify them demanding an explanation.

Well on this forum the votes are public. Deal with it. And if you can't then stop downvoting.

[-] PabloDiscobar@kbin.social 3 points 2 years ago

Who is down voting this comment?

chatterbox and comedy. You can see them in the activity tab of the post.

100 per minute is faster than the speed at which I deleted my history. So I guess we can still help people deleting their history.

I used the archive which is shared around and extracted my posts to get the id of my comments and deleted those, like 30 per minute. But I guess that if we rebuild a database with the author as a key then we can pretty quickly return a list of id's based on an author. Then the user can feed this list to a python script by himself and delete himself.

What I couldn't do in time is edit the posts as I ran in some weird index errors that I couldn't bypass.

The US crowd is a specific crowd. Only in the US could the pizzagate be a thing. Don't equate the USA as "another country but bigger". The weaponization of the american media is perfectly visible and understood and honestly I expected better from people who left a platform like reddit. I was wrong. Only a small minority was able to produce interesting conversations before Jim interrupted the finer things club.

Also just because you are american doesn't mean that you have to post about american politics. There is a whole world out there and american would be well inspired to look at what is happening beyond the ocean. I was talking about https://ground.news a few minutes ago. Great tool to find foreign stories in english from all around the globe.

Each has become a testbench to make karma in the other two.

I see that the repost have already started on kbin.

I'm done with reddit. It has become too big and has accumulated too much dead weight.

The AI will finish the job as I predict that Reddit will transform into an astroturfing hub. ( /m/astroturfing is open btw)
