We absolutely have to defederate from Threads just to stay up and be functional.
Threads won't federate so they can stay out of touch of illegal content. The lemmy populace is radioactive material to Facebook. Even here we are fighting against the random content being NSFW, so imagine the black suits of facebook... imagine the lawyers of facebook having a quick look at what they are about to federate. They will pull the plug on it after their first visit.
So weird and obsessive to not only care about who might disagree with your comment, but to then seek to notify them demanding an explanation.

The instances of the fediverse are necessarily smaller than the reddit server, therefore you will have to search for remote communities on specialized servers. Or start your own.
If meditation concerns 0.1% of the population, then you will need 10000 accounts for each 10 meditation members, that would be 40 people on kbin. So you have to search on different instances, and maybe move to a different federation. Your main instance should be located where you live and then you search elsewhere for your niche interests.
This is a war of content. u/spez also holds the contribution of his users in high regard, to the point where he is undeleting it. They both want our content, I don't see how you cannot make the link.
They should create their own instance and offer it as a service for any company with an interest in interacting with blind people.
Documentation, audio content, whatever they need
Blind.social as a point of entry. No need for a company to have a dedicated section of their website for blind needs, the instance would already have optimised the navigation for them. And of course no need to multiply the logins. This would allow the blind community to focus their effort in one place without the second thought of enduring the business decision of a CEO, i n terme of design or whatever.
The fediverse is really something.
Please stop advertising for Kbin. Have you see the history of the people you were talking to? You want them in our mags? You want them to upvote their own content and make Kbin the next reddit shitshow? Stop.
People left reddit and it wasn't just about the 3rd party app thing, it was also about the abysmal quality of the content. Reddit became too big and turned into a fest of attention whores. Keep Kbin at a reasonable size. Then people who matter will find us by themselves.

Why is this so hard for people?

Surprise titles are the worst. They really make me feel that the author is just using the tool as his toy. There will be thousands of people like you, what do you think will happen when all the titles will look like yours?
