It boils down to the old ‘nature vs nurture’ debate.

Current consensus is that it’s a bit of both. Or, to be more precise (and modern), social factors, biological factors, and psychological factors all interact.

Classical music doesn’t necessarily have drums. It might have some percussion but they’re not as prominent as with a lot of pop music.

Sure it shifts the burden to the taxpayer and I would like my tax money to be spent on other things please.

Companies aren’t going to change their policies voluntarily, it’s up to governments to make better decisions with my money and make other options more viable.
