But like... A communication device seems like THE most suspicious equipment you can get. I'm shocked nobody verified, and I'm shocked that they had the audacity to even attempt.

Wrt giving/selling the pagers, well, I'll have to read more to find out if that happened. It wouldn't surprise me but also I imagine it'd be hard to find out.

Murca has invented these little devices that trick the machine so you don't have to put in a quarter.

They'll do anything to avoid being decent lol

I don't trust websites that still start with www.

I've not been a dev for that long, but I've been a dev for 15y or so. For the most part it seems to me like that is an effect of business decisions; workers will learn the skills that get recognized. Which skills those are has changed over time.

I don't see older devs have that quality particularly more then younger devs, what I see is businesses that don't value that type of behavior. And having worked with "wild West cowboy" coders before, the businesses may be right; they often make a real mess things and just rely on other people to clean up after them.

From what I've seen, there are lots of young people who invest in themselves and have passion for the craft, when the business allows them room to grow and doesn't treat them like a code-producing machine.

Did they die together?
This seems like a difficult tombstone to update later.

Or is it the same person but young/old?

It took me a long time to actually come up with a decent submission. I wasn't super clear what the theme is, and then once I came up with ideas I had a hard time actually generating what I wanted lol.

Here I was going for both the literal "upside down" aspect, and also Stranger Things "upside down" vibes.

I was really hoping that I could get the dude in the reflection to be removed or be different, but I couldn't seem to get both that and everything else I wanted in the same image

MS copilot designer prompta man in a hazmat suit falls through a puddle into a spooky alternate reality. in contrast, the reflection in the puddle shows a cheerful metropolis. the man is still falling through the air. the scene is very surreal.

With art, there is an inverse relationship between the number of people who will buy it and how much they'll pay for it. Art everyone wants is cheap, niche art is expensive.

If you go full send, you can charge more if the stars align and you can find a buyer.

I don't think you can get purple marble? If you could, I can't imagine youd use it in a floor for a kitchen like this. It'd be for a counter used as an accent piece for a millionaire's mansion's 2nd kitchen.

You're right.

Thankfully in this instance, it's a joke, playing with your expectations of headlines. But yeah, celebs are companies

Assuming the schematic is for repairability, not security. Seems unlikely that enthusiasts would have the equipment to non-destructivly identify malicious deviations from spec, introduced by competent actors.
