Apologies. Alt text added!

from someone that admittedly doesn’t read anything that might not agree with their existing beliefs.

As I mentioned before, I did read them, and I concluded that further research into ML will not be fruitful.

You just generalized so much history into a single sentence it’s embarrassing.

I only generalize due to longer comments being undesirable (more detail in the long previous comment, if you like).

Either way, further discussion will only result in needless conflict. I genuinely wish you the best. Farewell.

I wasn't aware of the scale of those opposition parties, the Reichsbanner in particular. I also can't really find much info on their conflicts pre-1932, I assume they are only written about in German? Definitely an interesting topic to delve into.

Cheers for sharing the solid research :)

I see in your edit that you confused us for a different instance, but I want to mention regardless that Slrpnk.net has 3 active admins, it's not just poVoq (Kris).

A piefed migration allowed the possibility of backing up every post, but it only shows up on the piefed instance itself, the old backed up posts don't federate out.

Had Perish migrated to a Lemmy instance, there would be no backup at all, and we'd have to start from scratch. The only backup of the community would exist as the old posts from lemm.ee that exist on other instances.

Thank you for keeping it alive over there, and all of your efforts!

I decided to throw Mega man Legends 2 on my miyoo mini, as I had fond memories of renting the first game as a kid, and never tried the sequel.

It's an odd spinoff of the Megaman series that turns it into a 3rd person dungeon delving shooter, complete with story and fully voice acted 90's anime style in-game cutscenes!

Thoughts on the sequel:

It has some improvements over the original, such as the ability to fly around the main ship on a world map! I liked the globe trotting aspect (the OG takes place in one city), and the art style and controls were pretty good.

It held my attention for about 4 or 5 hours, until I came across an underwater level, where things went downhill.

Even equipped with a missable underwater specific speed upgrade ability, movement speed underwater was cut to about a third of normal speed, and this was combined with large open spaces and the need to throw around some finicky boxes to reach high ledges sometimes were dead ends.

I just don't have the tolerance for that sort of thing like I used to, so I deleted it and finished it by watching the cut scenes on YouTube! The ending is pretty cringe, so I'm glad I bailed, honestly.

Paul Harrell tested birdshot at 100 yards. It fails to penetrate a t-shirt, and gets very few hits at that range.

LuckyGunner tested Buckshot at 100 yards. It was still deadly, but few pellets will hit.

Shotgun Slugs are effective out to 100 yards.

The Spanish Civil War was Anarchists, Communists, and Liberals vs. a Hitler and Mussolini backed fascist Dictator, Franco.

The resistance had popular support, but the lack of weapons did severely hinder the left's effectiveness, and caused them to become reliant upon Soviet Russia for weapons supplies, which ultimately spelled their downfall as the Soviets betrayed everyone else and began rounding everyone up to execute them.

I'm not saying having a surplus of small arms in the hands of the leftists would've changed the outcome of the war (they also needed tanks, airplanes, and artillery), but it would've been a pretty big asset, had they been able to fulfill those other needs some other way as well.

The philosopher Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king. Said Aristippus, "If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils."

Said Diogenes, "Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king." - 370 BC
