Using sex terms (as in "fucked up" or "that sucks") to indicate violence (as in preventing normal action or imposing deprivation inducing results, philosophical violence, not colloquial) is a meme as old as time. It's more of a dysphemistic treadmill thing than anything. People are okay with being oppressed when talked about in normal terms like "walled garden" but talking about sex at all is taboo in a lot of places (for no good reason). (I am asexual (mostly) and I find this paradoxical aspect of the largely sexual public (in the US) to be massively a detriment to society.)

So no, using anal here isn't being homophobic. Not including it in the dysphemistic treadmill would be. My boyfriend has used this term before and he's hella gay.

Edit: for reference, I'm exaggerating a bit. Buying into a walled garden is fine if that's what you're into. Just know that you don't own the hardware or software you bought, instead you paid to get temporary access to services provided by it. For more information, see the war on right to repair.

I'll back this up, and recommend people having a hard time look into Spell Labs on the steam workshop (and elsewhere) to help get further into the game. Once the game really clicks, it's super satisfying. Even before then, the ridiculous wonder of all the things are great. It's just as hard as it is amazing and that can be a turn off. There are other quality of life mods available in the workshop for people wanting to just enjoy the game, but the tutorial in Spell Labs is one of the biggest helps I got in unlocking progression.

Noita Together sessions were the big thing that turned the game into an obsession for me.

Hahaha. I think when they say crimes, I think they mean doing drugs and having sex. So largely nothing actually harmful unless the person passes out.

He got free food and a bed? Jealous.

This actually is a symptom from the sort of "beneficial" overfit in Deep Learning. As someone whose research is in low data, long tails, and few shot learning, there's a few things that smaller networks did better in generalization, and one thing they particularly did better (without explicit training for it) is gauging uncertainty. This uncertainty is sometimes referred to as calibration. Calibrating deep networks can yield decent probabilities that can be used to show uncertainty.

There are other tricks for this. My favorite strategies prep the network for learning new things. Large margin training and the like are a good thing to look into. Having space in the output semantic space (the layer immediately before the output or earlier for encoder decoder style networks) allows for larger regions for distinct unknown values to be separated from the known ones, which helps inherently calibrate the network.

This is a fair question. But also, we're talking about one of the most influential minds in deep learning. If anything he's selling himself short. He's definitely not first author on most of them, but I would give all my limbs to work in his lab.

My parents.

Good luck. Don't catch covid again if you can help it. Repeated exposure makes it worse. Pretty sure that's where I'm at. At least I've been up to date with vaccines or it could have been much worse, likely.

Sounds like anywhere in VA that isn't Alexandria or Tyson's Corner.

A game with the time travel self interaction and self saving mechanics of Super Time Force Ultra. Doesn't have to be a side scroller. Bonus points for getting multiplayer to work reasonably. I've been theorycrafting ways to do multiplayer like this for years (and ultimately most of it feels disjointed in theory so IDK). I've only seen one super low budget game using this mechanic (as a main game mechanic, not a side puzzle like the Ratchet and Clank time puzzles) and the reviews weren't great.

I've been considering mixing it with 5D Chess with Time Travel mechanics and Advance Wars gameplay as a proof of concept and see how far that gets me... But I don't have time or energy to work on it after work...

Umm... It's clinical, so dopamine.

Yep. R/Noita went private and moved to the discord I was already in, but Discord is a terrible replacement for Reddit. I don't have time to read everything in the community to find anything in the community... So now I only have the comment section in FuryForged to find new discoveries in one of the most ridiculously complicated physics simulators I play.

It's an obscure enough community that I doubt it will reopen there, and I'd lose some respect for it if it reopened before Reddit actually listened to a single word we said.
