This was my exact reaction too. Supposedly he stopped taking pharmaceutical money but he still takes lots of other corporate money. While I was searching, an AI summary said he was a business friendly progressive which seems like an oxymoron to me.

But whatever. I like performative over submissive.

Loved Cradle as well which is the only other progression fantasy I think I’ve read.

Veronica Mars. Incredible first season followed by 2 lesser but still good seasons. They made an incredible kickstarter video for a revival movie that I believe was the biggest kickstarter ever at the time. But the movie was really bad. There was another Hulu season after that I can barely remember watching except for the awful ending.

Some things should just stay dead.

I don’t care for Family Guy either. But if you like slow, contemplative sci-fi, The Orville surprisingly delivers.

I do wish that was more common. I have no problem with Patreon to remove the ads.

After a long quest for an iOS and macOS rss reader with notifications I landed on NetNewsWire as the best option with no gimmicks.

I’ve found discord to be a bit of a barrier for the less tech savvy friends too. Overseerr has worked great though. Except now it’s too easy and my server has gone from meticulously curated sci-fi and horror and pretentious classic films to include all the big modern trash I don’t care to watch. Oh well.
