Don't tell me what not to tell you!

I see Lemmy and the fediverse more as an evolution of how we approach the web. We should absolutely cater to more casual users eventually, and try to have as many people as possible to leave behind these greedy internet monopolies. We clearly saw that they're not the way to go.

How we get there is a bit of a question mark, it's clear that there's a big push from more involved/aware users to break away from big corporations. This doesn't mean we're building on outrage, just that it was the initial push to get something new started.

I have to say I also watch videos in background while doing other stuff, but that doesn't make it a better medium to convey information, just more practical when the information is not important enough to be the main focus of someone's attention, and that's pretty subjective.

But I do get the point, I just wish it was different.

I haven't been following anything regarding Threads so I assumed it was out here in Europe too, it's actually a relief that it isn't. Won't stay long like this, but it's something.
