ME READING WARHAMMER 40K BOOKS IN 2018: this setting is so fucking dumb. No way a society would let their entire technological infrastructure be controlled by a handful of fanatics that have convinced themselves that computer code is literally God

I am minded to lean much more towards banning all corporate accounts. They get enough airtime already, if you want to see that stuff you'll find it easily enough elsewhere.

It was funny for a year or two when the Wendy's account was pure rude to everyone but that time has passed.

Thanks! I'll change the rule to also specify no brand promotion.

He is very good at the following things:

  • being born rich
  • investing in a slam dunk future technology everyone on the planet knows we will need, eg money on the internet, electric cars, space ships
  • taking risks in combining the above

That is about as far as his skillset runs. As we've seen from twitter, when he doesn't have an entire layer of his organisation set up to run interference in him, he quickly runs companies into the ground. He has had zero original ideas.

He's also a dangerous alt-right racist nutjob.

I'm currently giving to dessalines on Patreon, should that continue or should I donate via another means?

It's the kind of thing that's so blatant you forget it's wildly illegal.

The Matrix described 1999 as the peak of human civilization and I laughed because that would obviously not age well but then the next 23 years happened and now l'm like yeah okay maybe the machines had a point

All Lemmy instances are test environments right now. It's just that lemmy.world is being tested the hardest.
